The “New Turkey” idiom is used to enrich envisioning the“ Turkey of the future”. Communal conceptualizing and envisioning are motivational dynamics for people. Muslim thinkers, such as Farabi and İbn-i Sina, who are the forerunners, pondered on the “new community envisioning” and set principles for “virtuous community”. The regulation conceptualized for the Ottomans was “Novus Ordo”. Many Ottoman intellectuals, like Hasan Kafi el-Akhisari and Kınalızade Ali, had written political treatises that explained the Novus Ordo.
Since “Islam” ushered in excitement of a new world and a new dream during its first era, it managed to expand from Arabia to the Iran basin, from Yemen to Central Asia, and from Syria to Northern Africa. The “Byzantine Empire's” domination loss over Anatolia, the Balkans, Syria and Egypt resulted from drifting apart from justice and retrogressing. After the “battle of Manzikert,” the doors of Anatolia were opened to the masses who wanted to establish a new game. The powers that established the “Seljuk” and “Ottoman” empires were successful because of fair administration.
The “Soviet dream” is long dead. The “American dream” and “European dream” are on their last breath. The Chinese featured a “Chinese dream” expression; however, this dream doesn't excite humanity. The “Chinese dream” is just a reason for panic with the potential of carrying the gradually growing Chinese population outside. As for the wealth that is acquired with the petroleum from the West coast of the Persian Gulf; it doesn't carry any meaning beyond differentiating the “haves nots” from the “haves” as the “below and above” in the Arab world. Dubai's deluxe business towers that are presented with an unbelievable clumsiness are just highlighting these destructive contradictions. The “Arab Spring” was promising an “Arabic dream” for the youngsters of this world; however, after it had been suppressed by the sly intervention of the wealthy people and collaborators of the Gulf, they had been atrophied.
If “New Turkey” becomes a “common dream”, then the cooperation it would establish with young masses will play a big role in this. A dream that doesn't address the youngsters will only stay as an expression. In our country, the number of children aged between 0-17 is around 23 million. According to the Income and Living Conditions Research of the Turkish Statistical Institute, there are around 17 million poor people in our country. Around 45 percent of those people are children. The future Turkey will be the Turkey of those children. During my childhood, the government door was described as “the door for servicing the nation”. This was the idea that was implanted. Being a teacher, officer, and engineer was more than a vocation; they were the tools of servicing the nation. Now the government door is regarded as a guaranteed employment door. Because, the working life outside the government does not infix trust.
“New Turkey” should promise a guaranteed working life outside the government for the youngsters. Achieving that requires a “new economy”, “new production” and “new education”. In an economic system, where only a certain segment of the youngsters pass from the government doors, benefit from fundholders and hundreds of thousands of people are left outside, the “New Turkey” cannot be established. In his work entitled “Usülü'l-Hikem fi Nizami'l-Alem”, Kadı Hasan Kafi El-Akhisari, he emphasized that confining the blessing and goodness only in a coterie is the most destructive factor for the current system. According to El-Akhisari, the first reason behind the disintegration of communities was omission and laxity. El-Akhisari decided to write this piece of work 6 years after the death of “Magnificent Suleiman”. The system of the country started to deteriorate since that day.
