The 26th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP26), which began on Oct. 31 October, had ended on Nov. 12. Negotiations on the resolution of global problems arising from Climate Change, which lasted for about two weeks, resulted in commitments that fell short of what is required. The two poles of the New Cold War, the U.S. and China, have partially agreed on combating the Climate Crisis. India and African countries, on the other hand, want rich countries, which are the biggest contributors to climate change, to put their money where their mouth is. At previous summits, the targets for reducing Global Warming at the promised rates were not met. Therefore, it is doubtful that the promises made at this Summit will be fulfilled.

The fight against the Climate Crisis is closely related to the fundamental change of the global economic system. This is why the winners of the Colonization System have always neglected the fight against the Climate Crisis.

The Climate Crisis is imposing structural economic transformations. As seen in the great transformations of history such as the Agricultural and Industrial revolutions, there will be winners and losers of this transformation.

American author Elvin Toffler, in his book "The Third Wave" published in 1980, described the waves that changed the course of human history and expressed his predictions about the new wave. Of course, every revolution changes phenomena such as production, consumption, art and culture, in accordance with its nature.

There is no doubt that the Climate Crisis actually started with the Industrial Revolution and was exacerbated by the Capitalist production model. The efforts to sow doubts over this issue by the sectors that have been most harmed by the transformation policies required by the Climate Change are nothing but an attempt at a cover-up.

Although they are aware that they are bringing humanity to the brink of an existential threat, they continue these efforts.

The cause of the Climate Crisis is of course Capitalism. However, the central capitalist countries want humanity to foot the bill of the Climate Crisis. Countries, especially African one, that have suffered or will suffer the greatest damage even though they contributed the least to the Crisis, rightly object to this injustice.

The address of the biggest dilemma in the fight against the Climate Crisis is again the Capitalist powerhouses. Of course, the destruction caused by capitalism is not limited to Climate Change. Capitalism is the source of the flagrant inequality (injustice) in the distribution of global income and wealth.

It is also a fact that the Climate Crisis has led to the globalization of economic and social problems, especially floods, drought, forest fires, sharp drop in plant and animal diversity, food shortages and migrations. To put it in a nutshell, the Climate Crisis is the mother of all other crises.

French journalist Herve Kempf, known for his studies investigating the links between global warming and social crises, draws attention to the fact that Eco-Scientific Depression (climate crisis) and Social Depressions should be seen as two sides of the same disastrous coin. According to the author, the way to successfully combat Climate Change is to understand this relationship.

I liken the current crises of humanity to the famous Matryoshka dolls of the Russians. One of the indispensable objects of my library is a Matryoshka.

My Matryoshka, which inspired me in my efforts to get to the root of each phenomenon, consists of four separate babies that are intertwined. The outermost doll represents the Climate Crisis. The one underneath it symbolizes inequality in wealth and income distribution, the smaller one stands in for Politics, and the smallest symbolizes Greed and Capitalism.

The main issue in the fight against the Climate Crisis is about toppling the established global capitalist order that works only for profit. There is no doubt that a human-oriented fair economic order is essential. There is a consensus in the world that the system needs to change.

Discussions mostly focus on which system will replace the current one and how. The system, which operates based on profit rather than production for needs, works for the 1% that controls the world's wealth.

Humane economics, on the other hand, works for the large collective. Unless the capitalist model of production/consumption/culture changes, the fight against Climate Change cannot go beyond treading water.
