Now they’re obsessed with Ilhan Omar’s hijab!

All attempts by of the “Israel Lobby” at passing a resolution in the Congress against the Muslim member of the House of Representatives, Ilhan Omar, have failed. The fact that the “House of Representatives” did not join them in their smearing campaigns against Ilhan Omar drove the “Israel Lobby” and the Republicans crazy. Now, since they were not successful in lynching Omar, they are accusing the Democrats of being “anti-Jewish”. According to the information leaked to the media, Trump said in the closed-door meeting he attended in the “Mar a-Lago” facilities with the Republican donors that “Democrats hate Jewish people”.

During the meeting, Trump explained in great detail what he did for Israel and he even said that he would easily be elected if had run for the presidency in Israel. Trump also stated in this meeting that he can’t really understand why the American Jews are voting for the Democrats. Let’s remember, almost three fourth of the American Jews vote for the Democrats and it is not expected to change in the 2020 elections. The American Jews believe that for them the most dangerous group is the “White supremacist Americans”. That is why Democrats still seem to be a safe address for the American Jews.

“Reformist” and “Liberal” Jews don’t approve of Benjamin Netanyahu’s policies and that is why they don’t think criticizing the Israeli government can be qualified as “Anti-Semitism”. In fact, Trump wants to channel the donations of the businessmen linked to the “Israel Lobby” to his own party rather than getting the votes of the Jews. The nominees for candidacy for both parties announced they’re running and a fierce fundraising competition started between the two parties. Young Democrats, on the other hand, wants to put an end to the dirty relationship between money and politics. Democrats also passed a law in Congress which aims to limit donations and stress greater transparency. The bill necessitates the parties publicize donations over certain amounts with their sources. The bill, which was introduced with the hope of preventing secret donations made from abroad is also regulating the transparency of the financial sources of the advertisements carried into effect by the “Political Action Committees (PAC)”.

The bill is also concerning the “American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC)” closely. Even though not directly, the “AIPAC” is channeling donations to the political action committees through its network of members. The AIPAC-affiliated political action committees in return work for the pro-Israel candidates’ victory. All the Republicans voted “no” for the bill which made the lobbies very uncomfortable. It is expected that the bill is not going to pass the Senate, controlled by the Republicans.

The lobby is resorting to other ways to pacify Ilhan Omar. One of the hosts of “Fox News”, Jeanine Pirro claimed that it is unconstitutional for Ilhan Omar to wear the hijab. Pirro, who mentioned that hijab is mentioned in the “Qur’an” asked the Democrats to question Omar’s commitment to the American Constitution. It seems that even they found Pirro’s words so dangerous that the board of Fox News had to issue a statement. In their statement, they said “We strongly condemn Jeanine Pirro’s comments about Rep. Ilhan Omar. They do not reflect those of the network and we have addressed the matter with her directly.”

The smearing campaign initiated by the Israel Lobby against Ilhan Omar failed but for many commentators, this was only their first shot. Meanwhile, according to various surveys, younger generations find the social issues put on the agenda by the new democrats more interesting. Support for Israel among younger populations is decreasing and the number of non-white Americans within this group is also increasing. This population shift is a serious cause for alarm for the Republicans. Young Democrats are not just transforming the Democratic Party, they are also forcing the Republican Party to change. The current debates, however, are just the tip of the iceberg.
