The presidential elections in Brazil ended with the victory of the “white supremacist” leader Jair Bolsonaro, whose nickname is “Tropical Trump.” Bolsonaro’s supporters had been using slogans that they borrowed from Trump’s 2016 election campaign in the rallies. Of those who welcomed Bolsonaro first, on the other hand, was John Bolton, who is Trump’s National Security Advisor and a “Neocon” hawk, and Israeli President Benjamin Netanyahu. Bolsonaro, who made his first interview after his election with the “Israel Hayom” newspaper, stated that they are going to move their Israel embassy to Jerusalem. Bolsonaro also promised that they will be the closest ally of Israel in the UN. After Trump’s decision to move its Israel embassy to Jerusalem, Honduras, Paraguay, and Guatemala, among other South American countries, also decided to move their embassies to the holy city.
The common aspect of the rising far-right parties in Europe is their “anti-EU,” “anti-Islam” and “pro- Israeli” stance. As we can see from the example of Bolsonaro in Brazil, pro-Israeli racist parties are not unique to Europe. As you can remember, we have already mentioned that within the far-right parties of Europe there are “Zionist” groups being formed. Under the leadership of Nigel Farage, one of the actors of the Brexit campaign, which caused Britain to leave the EU, a “Friends of Israel” group was established within the U.K. Independence Party.
A similar initiative was brought up on the agenda in the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party as well. Although party alignments are using “anti-Semitic” discourses, the party leaders identify themselves as “allies of Israel.” Dimitri Schulz, who comes from a Jewish family of Russian origin, on the other hand, established a group named “Jews in the AfD”. The initiative of Schulz who defends that the AfD is the only party which focuses on the “danger of Islam” garnered reactions from Orthodox and liberal Jews. Pro-Netanyahu Zionist Jews, however, are quite happy. A similar divide exists in the U.S. as well.
It is not a coincidence that the racist parties are pro-Israel. This is a project. One of the authors of “The Atlantic” magazine, Sigal Samuel, in an article published on Oct. 7, analyzed some Jewish groups’ support for the AfD. The subtitle of the article, “The formation of “Jews in the AfD,” is baffling to many, but it’s also part of a larger pattern across Europe.” In the article, the writer says that the anti-Muslim migrant inflammatory rhetoric has become a successful policy framework for the far-right parties over the last 15 years and that some Jews are acting with the logic of “the enemy of my enemy is my friend.”
According to the writer, this development which has spread across Europe is a part of a pattern that cannot be retained. One of the architects of this model is Trump’s former Chief Strategist Steve Bannon.
Bannon, who identifies himself as a passionate “Christian Zionist”, spends his time gathering far-right parties in Europe under one banner. Bannon is one of those people who emphasized the Holy League, the Christian powers who fought against the Ottoman Empire during the “Siege of Vienna” in 1683. Bannon, who claims that the fundamental aspects of Western civilization are the “Christian-Zionist” values, is trying to establish a new “Holy League” by making historical references. This project is carried out through racist far-right parties which identify themselves as anti-Islam, pro-Israeli, and supposedly anti-globalist parties. Bannon’s aim is to transform these racist and populist parties into a wider alliance which would dissolve the “European Union”. The real aim of the financial powers behind this project is being kept under wraps.
Many analysts compare the rise of populist parties in Europe to the 1930s. An opinion which sees the re-formation of conditions that would bring Europe on the brink of first a regional, then a global conflict is getting stronger. If the evil alliance led by Bannon becomes a reality, how is this development going to affect Turkey, the Muslim world and the other parts of the world? When we find answers to this question, we will be able to identify the nature of the “New Global System.”
