Washington’s agenda is complicated once again
Washington is faced with an intense agenda which includes “
Tax Reform
,” “
North Korea issue
” and cancelling the “
Iran Nuclear Agreement
.” Trump’s plan regarding the so-called tax reform pleased nobody except “
Wall Street
.” The plan will be advantageous for the richest “
5 percent
” as tax burden on the income groups at the lowest levels will not decrease; on the contrary, it will increase. According to some economists, Trump’s plan will not impact investments positively. Also, there has not been an economic growth except for real estate and finance since 2008. The discount imposed on corporation tax will only serve to two these sectors. The plan did not make the radical Right wing happy who define themselves as being loyal to the promises which can be summarized with the discourse of “
Make America Great Again (MAGA)
” that left its mark on Trump’s election campaign in 2016. The
Nationalists,
primarily
Steve Bannon
want the corporation tax to be raised and defends that new jobs should be created for Americans who belong to the low white working class who carried Trump to power.

U.S. President Trump gave the message in his latest speech that he delivered at the UN General Assembly that the “Iran Nuclear Agreement” would be cancelled. Meanwhile, we should state that the “
Israel lobby
” has carried out a very intense campaign to nullify the agreement. However, Secretary of Defense
James Mattis
, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff
Joseph Dunford
, Secretary of State
Rex Tillerson
and National Security Adviser
H. R. McMaster
do not want the agreement to be nullified. Mattis stated on Tuesday last week that the U.S. should uphold the agreement unless it is proven that Tehran does not meet the requirements of the agreement or it is against national interests.

Steve Bannon
, Trump’s former chief strategist at the White House and
John Bolton
, former U.S. Ambassador to the UN prepared a comprehensive plan in July to break the agreement. According to
Breibart News
, the media organ of the “Nationalists,” the “
Globalists
” - namely McMaster and his friends - at the White House prevented the plan from being presented to Trump. Later on, Bannon and his team were dismissed from their positions at the “White House.” “
The Bolton Plan
” has been reheated and brought to the agenda in the previous days. The plan was delivered to Trump in a letter by nearly 40 politicians, diplomats and national security experts who are anti-Iran and pro-Israel.

Trump who has approved the agreement twice for three-month periods since January, is giving messages that he will not do this the third time. In the case Trump does not give approval, then it’ll be
Congress’s
turn to make a move. The Congress will make a decision in 60 days; either the sanctions on Iran will start again or the agreement will be brought once again to the negotiation table. According to the Republican senator
Tom Cotton
who is known for being anti-Iran, the agreement is not fundamentally suitable for the national interests of the US. Even if Iran meets the technical requirements, Trump should not approve it. That is, the issue is not about whether Iran meets the requirements of the agreement. Other parties of the agreement -
Russia
,
China
,
the UK
,
France
and
Germany
- want the continuation of the agreement.

On the other hand, the issue of “
the right to bear arms
” started to be discussed again due to the massacre executed by a 64-year old white American in Las Vegas. “
The National Rifle Association”
is at the center of the discussions. As a powerful lobby, the “
NRA
” makes donations mainly to the Republican Party. That is why Trump is being accused of being silent about preventing the right to bear arms. The problem is not only about guns; the definition of ‘terrorism’ has also became a polemic matter. The discussion is still very hot and has turned into an ideological war between “
the
Left (the Democrats)
” and “
the
Right (the Republicans)
.
