The shame regime

The roadway is 40 km long and 6 km wide. Around 1,800 people have been squeezed into this roadway, because it is blockaded from both land and sea. There are almost no entrances or exits: no help, no support. Even to go fishing, you need to ask permission from Israel. Life under blockades is not that much different from the life at the Nazis" Jewish ghettos.

A balance sheet:

A great collapse was experienced as the raw material entry had been stopped and export had been rendered impossible after the last Israeli attack on 2008, which cost the lives of 1500 people, of whom most were women and children. In 2005, the number of open companies was around 4000, but this number dropped down to the 200s after the attacks.

The unemployment ratio is around 50 percent. Food prices had escalated remarkably during the blockade. (For example, baby food increased around 30 percent).

In 2006, while the rate of people living with humane help was around 63 percent, this rate became 80 percent in 2008. In the past decade, the number of families that are benefiting from UNRWA"s food help had increased ten folds. Millions of people and the whole identity is being punished by Israel...

The reason is the Hamas regime and incoming terror attacks from Gaza.

These tunnels are the only connection the Gaza society has with the world. Helps, nourishment and medicines are transported via these tunnels.

Now, Israel demands that Gaza shuts those tunnels. Israel is explaining their land operation this way. They are claiming that attacks made against them were carried out via those tunnels. Israel, who forgoest about removing the blockade, is now trying to seal off these holes and hit them via land attacks.

At the time this article was being written, the death count in Gaza had reached 250.

Can something like this happen?

Can a society, a community be segregated as if they are being taken into camps?

How can the world allow this?

But it is happening and the world is shutting their eyes.

The Western countries" statements are critical. They are stating, "Israel is right, but should be more restrained".

Vice president Kerry, just yesterday, was once again confirming the U.S." strong support towards Israel"s "right of self defense" and the operation carried out.

Aside from Israel, Egypt is the only neighbor of Gaza. However, Hamas has been declared as a terrorist by the Sisi regime in Egypt because of their political intimacy towards Muslim Brothers. The Egypt regime is observing them with eyes wide shut and approvingly.

A lot of Gulf countries are acting insensitive toward anyone in the US line.

Under these conditions, what can be expected from the UN or the international arena?

Leaving the reactions aside, even serious commentators are just wishing for this operation to end quickly and limited.

This is justice...

When justice is as such, we shouldn"t be surprised with the hatred being massive and the politicization piercing on the opposing side.

Dink case

The Constitutional Court had decided, on the case related with the Dink murder, that no active investigation had been done against the public officials, who were claimed to have responsibility in the murder.

The active investigation is lacking in many aspects in this case. The Constitutional Court"s decision is only about one of those aspects. The "investigation file" related with the public officers, which was opened in 2007 after the murder, is still under the confidentiality "protection". No information related with the investigation is being given to intervening advocates and their knowledge is not being consulted.

No joke; this has been operating with a security system for 7 years.

It is being processing by a security system that has not been found suitable to the legislation.

According to AIHM"s legal precedents, in cases including life losses, intervening sides should be given information and that this is their essential right.

The Constitutional Court had taken this into consideration and decided that no active investigation had been made.

This is also something.
