Where is the Kurdish issue going?

The Kurdish issue is a paradox for some and at the same rate it''s not believable. But this is obvious: In the forthcoming period, the Kurdish issue will play a bigger role in the democratic arguments in Turkey more than ever.

What is seen on the horizon for the ones, who regard this issue as a paradox, is the increasing dosage of authoritarianism. They are pretty sure that a possible third era of AK Party''s rulership, in other words the leader-president and the institutionalization period within this frame, will be bringing forth dosage increase.

In such an environment or direction, the democratization via Kurdish issue or the Kurdish issue that will carry the democratization equation is not understandable and realistic in their opinion.

However, until today their attitudes in every development, ranging from the formation of Committee of Wiseman to the resolution process and to the frame law, has always been negative.

Though, I think that the paradox is here: The ones, who believe in the importance of transformation in the State''s expression and the decisiveness of the Kurdish issue-democratization relationship, are negating critical developments around these issues at the same rate they are transforming all the reactions oriented at AK Party into an explanatory single factor.

However, political life runs differently.

In the forthcoming period, there are many indicators which show that the resolution process might experience deepening. What kind of inputs will this deepening bring to the democratization issue in Turkey or how will it affect the authoritativeness arguments? Time will show the answers to these questions.

Though, what might happen is what is always experienced:

An expansion of the political field, which is patriarchal, freedom''s losses caused by political tyranny in some fields, and freedom''s benefits brought forward by the autonomy gain against politics in some other areas…

We mentioned indicators…

There are three main objectives that are encircling the demands in the Kurdish issue, which are regarded as definition of citizenship and mother tongue by Kurds:

The first one is being accepted as a side and being seen as a respondent (we think that this need has been taken care of partially or temporarily by the frame law). The second one is their desire to administer themselves (strengthening the local administration via legal and constitutional regulations and founding a decentralized structure will be oriented at this need). Thirdly, a forgiveness mechanism (As for this, it seems like starting from September it will come into play gradually).

Without a doubt, we should underline the temporary, partially, relatively words. Though, besides these, the main body is moving towards a right direction. This is without a doubt as well.

Let''s put them in order.

Last years'' Gezi incidents in May and June, the reflections of the coup in Egypt on Turkish politics, the December 17th and 25th investigation waves, had shaken the government inside out in terms of image, posture and perceptive. Alongside this, at the same period, with its before and after, Turkish politics had witnessed the most critical curve in the sharpest democratic steps taken: the declaration of the resolution process, readings of Öcalan''s letters, the beginning of idea agitation in the public by the Committee of Wiseman. In other words, leaving the resolution idea to ''steep'' had started to give positive results, as it appeared today, and had put the country in a new era in this deadly issue. It seems that after the distrust crisis in the Gezi and resolution process, the convoy had started to mobilize again. The fruits of democratic moves had started to appear between the public, as well as from the point of CHP. We had witnessed as the main opposition party had started to support the process and at least tried not to be exceeded. The embodiment of the resolution process, the May 19th meeting that aimed at pacing up and preparing the schedule, the Kurdish Workshop following this, Atalay''s statements, Kiliçdaroglu''s statement that he supports the process, Öcalan''s positive and hopeful attitude, frame law''s legislation, HDP''s political tendency that tends towards being the founding actor of the system, preparations for concrete steps that will be taken from the beginning of September….

All these are advancing in between the important and decisive realities of the political life of the recent period.

The Kurdish issue and policy''s change from blocking to carrying and Kurdish political movements '' change from revolting towards being the founding actor, are appearing in front of us as the result of this weather.

Of course, we should take note of the Rojawa, ISIL-Barzani''s preparation for independence and some tension moments (for example, the two soldiers and six PYD members that had lost their lives yesterday). However, it''s obvious that the main route will be as mentioned above.

We should write all these down and ponder over them while we are making a political judgment.
