Where were we? Where are we? Where are we going?

I had always emphasized in this column that no community can be managed or live for a time with a civilization project, which didn''t belong to them and didn"t emerge from their structure. On top of that, every community, sooner or later, will produce an existence project, a modernity, which starts off from their own culture but is in constant traffic with the global one.

These create the foundation of communal balance and prosperity…

This is the story of Turkey"s past 10 years in a way.

This is what bothers some people.

This situation tells us that continuity is unavoidable in communities" lives. It emphasizes the fact that the change, which is the essential rule of communities, is originated within the scope of continuity.

Continuity is the referee and regulator of the rivalry and clash between communal differences, which forms the yeast of the communal change and is the most important factor.

Every development or political disengagement that challenges continuity creates a severe and tissue-breaking quake, which doesn"t have a regulatory or referee in communities. As you know, Turkey had been imprisoned to these quakes and felt this twinge for years…

This twinge had been originated from the fight between the given civilization project and the local civilization project, which had been disallowed from intersecting with one another under any circumstances.

And the clash between them had torn apart both projects from the inside.

Today we are at a different point…

As a matter of fact, the past 10 years had expressed the involvement of these two different projects and the value systems that are unique to this country becoming closer to global values.

"What"s necessary" has been completed considerably…

But in order to reach the "sufficient one", we need more time, effort and democracy…

This is the matter now…

Thus, every issue, like the Kurdish issue, and every crisis, like Gezi incidents and the December 17 raid, this country experiences is pointing at this requirement.

It is clear that basic issues, like the transitivity in the relations between jurisdiction – politics, the loyalty principle in the refereeing and administration devices rather than the merit principle, and the autonomous fields beginning to lessen against politics, are the trigger factors of this type of crises and that deepens these crises…

As for these issues, they are originating from many historical remnants:

Our mentality issues are one of the leading one of these….

Our communitarian community tissue, which feeds the mentality structure, and the crises that appears with the reflection of this tissue on the politics, the lowness of our response reflex against these crises and deadlocks with democratic instruments, and the necessity of handling the state tissue at the point arrived today with the transformation period, are between those historical remnants…

We also need to add the region we live in and the ethnical mobilization, civilization paradoxes and dominance pursuits in this region and their effects….

The final raid on the politics and state had been produced between these remnants…

Then, preventing these remnants from capturing behaviors, attitudes and politics should be the task of every actor, ruling party, opposing party, intellectual, citizen and activist.

After all, this is one of our essential issues.

Issues are not solved by putting the blame on others.

As for the politics done within this frame, they are extremely shallow.

As this type of politicization increases, as the polarization deepens, the "comprehension" canals start to become blocked up. This weakness, this blockage, is feeding the disconnection between the lawful one and the legitimate one.

From the point of the country, we are at one of the forks of a political road…

To where and how we will advance?

We need to think before taking a political position…

For example, we need to understand that the capturing of the state by the Gülen"s congregation, or Cemaat, is not only the political ruling party"s problem.
