The architect of peace in Turkey

I'm not someone who finds HDP's political language cute or even sympathetic. As a conservative, it's not possible for their expression to address me. However, I didn't expect to encounter a language so full of denial and disregard. Maybe if I didn't witness what I've written above, or didn't know of AK Party's constructive steps, despite some people, towards the resolution of the problem Kurds are facing, my approach would have been different. If I haven't seen the long distance between the starting point and the point arrived at, I could have also been fascinated by many ignorant and superficial comments. Also, I wouldn't be able to see the illusion created by those artificial arguments. The attempt is to draw a horizon for Turkey with 8-second messages. Can this be possible?

In 2002, when AK Party came into power, there had been 2185 terror incidents. This number decreased gradually in time. In 2010, this number dropped to 877. This didn't happen only on one side, of course. However, the resolution determination was provided with the success and stability shown by the government in 9 elections. Besides, it's clear that neither PKK nor HDP members are flower children. They are not singing songs and being subject to anthropological researches. They didn't suddenly say, “Let's do politics!” either. Of course, this matter is not a simple one to be resolved single-sided. However, AK Party's “people first” policies provided the change that revealed this process. Since 2002, AK Party tried to change the views of all the points in the government that included discrimination. Today, their efforts are continuing. AK Party's expressions and policies revealed this peace environment and embraced the Turkish and Kurdish children of this country. This is the party that reached the point of DGMs, education in other languages and dialects, Kurdish TV and reinforcing local administrations from the days of having OHAL, or state of emergency implementations, without making any discrimination towards the nation.

The architect of the transformation in the government's mentality, in delivering service to the public, is AK Party. With their “Service First”, “People First” slogans, they've changed a rooted mentality. AK Party's peaceful policies have a big part in reaching the point we are at now from the days when around 4000 villages were being vandalized and emptied. AK Party did this with the feeling of protection, with their belief in democracy and without discriminating the citizens of this country. AK Party replaced ethnic nationalism with love for the country. By preserving their unitary government structure, they looked for ways to live in peace. This policy provided success for AK Party in 9 elections. It brought votes from 81 provinces in Turkey. Besides, these votes were collected one by one, street by street, neighborhood by neighborhood without making differentiations. These votes are what AK Party deserved with their services and efforts. Besides, they did this without threatening anyone. Until now, they brought services to the villages forgotten by the government. Starting with the rural services law, their alterations in many laws like the municipalities law, they've removed the obstacles in front of the service to the locals. This provided the government to be able to equally invest everywhere without making discrimination. No differences left between Urfa and Antalya. The government didn't differentiate between the high school they constructed in Harran and the one in Istanbul. If we compare the investments to these provinces in the Republic history, and the investments during the AK Party rulership period, we can see the great difference. Despite having thousands of work devices and workplaces burned down, AK Party encouraged these investments.

The days, when even saying the Kurdish problem was regarded as a crime by the writers of newspapers like Hürriyet and the great bosses honed the hostility towards the Kurds, are not that old. They are a constant in the archives. Could TV channels like CNN, Kanal D or Star make news without saying “terrorist leader”? The writers, who defended OHAL, are still alive. AK Party has shown great effort to provide peace despite them. AK Party actualized all those changes by taking the media on. They did this with the power of the trust directed at him, and, the love and respect towards everyone living in these lands. As one of the close witnesses to this challenge, I'm having difficulty in understanding the hostile alliances that denies all these. Despite all the maneuvers and attacks of the deep government, AK Party paved the way of peace in this country. However, now HDP is forgetting who paved the road to politics, normalization and peace, and is forming an alliance with a structure that is trying to close all these doors. It's not possible to understand. Betrayal is really a riddle. We know that the average voter age is 29. They have no interest or knowledge related with the past. The people, who don't know the point we came from, will know where to go. When I'm focused on the resolution of the matters, rather than looking at the gossiping language of politics; I will be voting for the party that provided the peace language and who will protect it. If we are talking about a new constitution or local democracy, then there is no other option than AK Party.
