The Iranian playing chess turns his King into a pawn

We are passing through a period where the cards are being reshuffled in the world and the Middle East.

As the geo-political diffractions are increasing, new alliances and hostilities are being formed.

If we are to interpret it in a Hegelian sense, the spirit of the world (weltgeist) is changing.

When we look at the nature of this tectonic diffraction and violence spiral that is being faced by global politics, we see that the inconsistency, spread through Northern Africa to the Persian Gulf and from Afghanistan and Ukraine to Yemen, in this wide geography will continue in the medium and long run.

In a world which is in pursuit of balance, the dominant and designative quality of the West is losing it's influence.

Following the global strait of the West, nation-state models in the Middle East are in a crisis

The Atlantic alliance, which fell into the Middle East ocean, started to appeal to the Shi'ite Iran card as a last resort.

However, the model represented by Iran didn't serve any other purpose then to deepen the civil wars in Iraq, Syria and Yemen.

In fact, the most strategic element that legitimizes the interests of countries, who are giving a hegemony struggle in the crisis and transition periods, is their cultural expression.

In this sense, as all the strategic value systems of the U.S. and the actors close to them are collapsing, the geo-political reflex and cultural consistency performed by Turkey is making a strong impression on the world.

As it had been seen in the examples of Iraq, Syria, Egypt, Iran, Russia, the E.U., the U.S., China, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Israel and recently Yemen, due to this consistency, Turkey is successfully conducting the dynamics of classifying sensitive matters in binary relations.

Erdoğan's rebuke of Iran in Yemen was the effective practice of this.

This rebuke had broken the Iran myth, which has been put forth for the role of “forced hegemony” since 2011, since it became integrated with Erdoğan's principal expression.

Indeed, Tehran, who is acting with Shi'ite fanaticism in the Middle East, is making an impression of a real-politic actor that leaves aside it's identity in Caucasia, South Asia and Central Asia.

Today, with the ideological attitude it performed in Syria, Iraq and Yemen, Tehran is not serving any other purpose than the “Balkanization” politics of the U.S. and Israel that is based on the sect and ethnic disintegration in the region.

Tehran, which is pursuing sectarian policies in its region, can suddenly become a rational state that acts accordingly to the real-politic realities when in Russia's domain.

Iran, which put aside its Shi'ite identity, had entered a never-before-seen intimacy process with Russia after the 1990s.

Tehran, which stayed quiet during the Chechen war in order to avoid angering Russia, had never touched the Shi'ite card in Central Asia and Caucasia.

During the Nagorno – Karabagh conflict, they supported Christian Armenia rather than the Shi'ite Azerbaijan.

During the civil war in Tajikistan, they had aided communist-rooted fractions.

International relations are similar to a game of chess.

Similar to chess, some pieces, actors and principles are more valuable then the others.

The most valuable piece is the King.

In our modern world, the King of the countries' in international politics is the geo-cultural expression they possess.

When regarded in this sense, the cultural power balance possesses more strategic nature and effect than the “zero-sum” in the military or realist power balance.

Today, the West undermined the hegemony of the others, who are not like them (like Greece and Rome), by labeling them as “barbaric, terrorist, despot and dictator”.

The Western liberal democracy, which is symbolized with the racism of “you will be like me”, has now evolved into an unnatural process that is outside history.

As the French Philosopher Baudrillard said; in a period, where the cultural relativity, in other words the post-modern and post-structuralist ideas, had swept all the cultures, including the Chinese and Russian, away, only Islam managed to be an exception.

On it's own, Islam challenged these trends.

Not only the moral and socio-economic crises, but also the philosophy crisis is deepening in the Western values, which are based on racism.

The Western people, who had lost their faith in religion after the Thirty-Year War between 1618 and 1648, lost their faith in the nation after World War I and in their ideologies after World War II, and have no faith towards advancing any longer.

As the phrase goes; while having nothing new to present to humanity, the ideological productivity of the West related with the future has also stopped.

This display is the sign that, even though the violence spiral is gradually increasing, the 21st century will not be bloody like the last century for the Islam world.

Despite the Islamophobic flutter, the Western world will adapt to living with Islam and other Asian civilizations.

It's clear that the “war against terror” is a great global fabrication and a historic crime against humanity.

The religious community practice in Islam, with its multicultural structure, is a more comprehensive and modern “open community project” than what the liberal community provides.

New Turkey, which is the representative of this new values system, is defending a discrepancy, which hasn't been degenerated by the supremacy and inferiority format in the world.

We are face to face with a new paradigm that has a unique logic of dominance.

The crises in the Eastern Mediterranean, Gulf, Horn of Africa and Middle East, are all forcing Turkey, which is a natural hegemon in its region, to a new choice.

Turkey had already given up on joining the West and putting up with it.

While Turkey's relations with Japan, Russia, China, India and Gulf countries are deepening gradually, the junction with the U.S. in strategic objectives are gradually widening.

While the expansion of the U.S. and the EU is coming to a halt, Russia's influence area in Eurasia, China's influence area in the Far East and Turkey's influence in Northern Africa, the Middle East, Caucasia and Balkans is gradually increasing.

In other words, the world, where the West does not rule, is being shaped in flesh and bone.

As for the crammed West; they are pursuing Trans-Pacific and Trans-Atlantic alliances.

Thus, the West's, who is pressed for money, struggle in finding energy resources, controlling energy routes and taking shares from energy markets will come to boil even more.

In a period, where a “balanced global and regional game” is activated around us, the attempts to stop Turkey through parallel organizations inside and outside have all failed.

Especially after the Syria, Iraq and Yemen crises, it had been seen that the “Iran card” cannot be functional against Turkey.

As Brzezinski said, “The quality that differentiates countries is their skill in making a choice between 'patient ambition' and 'deceiving themselves.'”

Tehran failed to show this trait.

By becoming a tool of sect-indexed chaos plans of the U.S. and Israel, they have wasted their cultural capital, which is equal to the King's position in chess.

By turning it's back on Turkey's “win-win” politics and being deceived by the West's “winner takes all” strategy, Tehran became a victim of its passion.Washington, who is sidestepping in their policies related with Turkey, is also experiencing the same outcome.

The ones, who are warping the Turkey reality, are now turning into laughing stocks.

The White House's recent Orwell-type of politics “that considers friends as foes, denial as virtue and loss as victory” is now the richest material of skits and caricatures.

As Ranciere says: “No matter who it is, if what he/she teaches you does not free you, then it will certainly make you dumber…”

The ones who are turning their King into a pawn in a game of chess should remember this the most.
