Turkey should complain about the US to The Hague

The U.S. Secretary of State published the 2017 version of its annual country reports on terrorism. In the part about Turkey, there are scandalous evaluations. In the so-called report on terrorism, the terrorist groups were given support by completely disregarding the Fetullah Terrorist Organization (FETÖ) and People’s Protection Units (YPG), and once again it was exposed to the public that terrorism is being used as a tool for the colonialist policies of the U.S. In the report, Fetullah Gülen, who is the ringleader of FETÖ which organized three unsuccessful coup attempts in Turkey under the control of Pentagon and NATO, was mentioned as a “Muslim cleric.” The terrorist organization was openly supported by mentioning that over 150,000 civil servants were discharged without clear evidence over links with FETÖ or other terrorist groups, while this also shows the obvious fact that there is a desire to hinder the fight against FETÖ. This report also exposed that the FETÖ and YPG terrorist organizations were officially being protected and directed against Turkey by the U.S. and the other member states of NATO, which did not only not hand over the 10,000 FETÖ fugitives who failed in the deadly coup attempt of July 15 to Turkey, but they also embraced these terrorists and gave them work and residency permits as well as a salary.

It seems that the U.S. excluded the part about the YPG, the Syrian branch of the Kurdistan workers’ Party (PKK) terrorist organization, from this year’s report. The U.S. regards YPG terrorists, whose numbers are over 70,000, as their land forces, has supported them with 18,000 truckloads and 3,000 cargo planes filled with new generation ammunition and weaponry, and is trying to fool the entire world that these terrorists are Kurdish militia. However, many senators revealed the PKK-YPG relationship in their speeches made both in the Senate and in Congress. Also, YPG is mentioned as a terrorist organization in detail and as the Syrian branch of PKK in many official documents prepared by the U.S. Secretary of State.

In short, the U.S. officials know the relationship between PKK and YPG almost better than we do. The U.S. is not reluctant to use FETÖ and the YPG terrorist organizations publicly to destabilize Syria and Turkey. How can the U.S., which covertly or overtly supports and uses the Daesh, al-Nusra, FETÖ, PKK/YPG, al-Qaeda, HTS terrorist organizations, lecture the world about terror organizations with its annual country reports on terrorism. Why does the international community approve these annual reports on terrorism which are published by a global terrorist state? The most important reason why the U.S. is ignoring international rules and regulations is that it is a hegemonic global power. In the past and present, the U.S. has been threatening the independence and the future of second states with political destabilization, financial pressure, sanctions, coups, and by establishing fifth column activities in the countries they target.

Moreover, the U.S. does not have a clean record on any issue. The U.S. is a country which was sentenced in the International Court of Justice for cooperating with terrorist organizations, and training, arming and financing their militias. Nicaragua applied to the Hague Court of Justice in 1984 against the U.S. The complaint was about the American government’s attempt to topple the Managua government by giving support to armed militias. The Hague Court of Justice sentenced the U.S. to pay 17 billion dollars to Nicaragua based on international law. The U.S. dismissed this ruling which they thought to be unacceptable. Although it has been decades since this decision, there has been no positive development. On the contrary, the U.S. is acting like a usurper with the presidency of Trump and using its hegemonic power like a mob. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who went to the U.S. on Sept. 25 for the UN General Assembly, signaled an operation in the east of the Euphrates. Without wasting time, Turkey should complain to the Hague Court of Justice about the U.S. for openly supporting the FETÖ and YPG terrorist organizations. Because the U.S. support for the YPG and FETÖ was blatant in the its 2017 country reports on terrorism. I think it would be important for our country’s reputation and authority to see those who wanted to try Turkey in the Hague Court of Justice hoisted by their own petard.
