In recent years, there has been a desire to siege Turkey in all fields.
We saw how the group that was unsuccessful with the July 15 coup attempt tried to play around with the dollar exchange rate in order to create an economic coup. But, this time, unexpectedly again, both the government and the people started to mobilize in this respect and stand behind the Turkish lira.
While we continue to try and stand against the dollar siege, we come face to face with a terror attack and are forced to accept the chaotic scenario they have written for the region.
Being unsuccessful in ruining the Turkish economy, they are now trying to create fear amongst social life and thus draw a hopeless and pessimist picture of Turkey.
And all this happens when Turkey starts to speak about the new system that is expected to reform Turkey by removing the tutelage system that held the economy, politics and bureaucracy in its hands for years and prevented Turkey from developing in all respects; a system that is expected to make Turkey a regional power.
We are at a historic turning point in which Turkey is at the phase of becoming a powerful actor in the regional and global economy and in local and foreign politics.
The most important one of the very much-needed reforms, the offer to change the Constitution, was just announced to the public when Istanbul faced another terror attack. They are trying to siege Turkey!
And unfortunately, they have made this a habit. Whenever Turkey decides to take a big step, or whenever Turkey has a ground-breaking ceremony or an agreement ceremony for a giant project, they either attack or intervene.
WE ARE GOING THROUGH A TOUGH PHASE
We are seriously going through very tough times as a country. Such that, those who want to place Turkey under political and economic siege, are taking joint action with a common attitude. The Fetullah Terrorist Organization (FETÖ), Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), Revolutionary People's Liberation Party-Front (DHKP-C) and Daesh have all adopted the same attitude and have decided that Turkey is their mutual enemy.
It doesn't matter whatever the name of the offender of the recent Istanbul attack is, they all served the same purpose. While Turkey is the mutual enemy of the dark powers standing behind terrorism, their only aim is to bring Turkey into line.
By bringing Turkey into line, they are hoping to keep Turkey out of regional issues. Because, while the balances change in the region and new maps are drawn, they are annoyed by Turkey, which is an important actor in the economy and foreign economy and is politically stable. Thus, they want to put us in the box and ensure that we are positioned according to their needs.
Choosing Istanbul as the point of attack is important for them to meet their targets strategically. Because Istanbul is the city that shoulders Turkey's economy, the city that pioneers in socio-economic development, and, of course, is rather visible in the international media. They are hoping to change the Turkey perception into a negative one, and of course trying to instill social fear.
Therefore, the easiest way to portray Turkey as an unlivable and unsafe country is to create chaos in one of its biggest cities, Istanbul.
WHAT ATTITUDE WILL TURKEY TAKE?
The dark powers that have been struggling to create chaos in the region, will continue their attempts to attack Turkey, which has not accepted the scenario written for the region and has successfully stood against all interventions.
Besides, while doing this, they will continue to use all economic, media and terror tools to achieve this.
There are people who believe Turkey will submit to this siege. At the same time, there is a question that arises among others within countries that see Turkey as a role model: Will Turkey give up?
Of course not.
Turkey needs to walk toward its political, economic and social goals without falling into despair and ensure that all the attempts against it are frustrated.
The most important thing is that we act as “WE,” like we did during the July 15 coup attempt.
Note: May God's mercy be upon those who were martyred in the recent Istanbul attacks. I would like to extend my condolences to their families and wish a speedy recovery to those who were injured that night.
