We are starting to read Turkey, incidents and the world through the Fetullah Terrorist Organization (FETÖ). The reading is so widespread and extensive (some people had extended Ergenekon to the İttihat and Terakki (the Committee of Union and Progress)) that it is almost going to touch everyone. It spreads and grows further and further. It hits anybody that gets in its way. It knows no boundaries. It turns everybody into a target. We immediately declare the neighbor we don't want, the candidate rector we see as a rival or the academic who wants to be in our associate professorship, the tradesman in the bazaar who we are jealous of, the bureaucrat whose position in bureaucracy we have an eye on as FETÖ members. It has become a path we resort to in order to beat, eliminate, weaken and knockout our opponents. FETÖ is now a marker. It is a way to ostracize. It is a marker we are going to deem those who we do not like, who we are jealous of, who we consider rivals worthy of. An easy and cheap marker that sticks instantly. It is the marker most suitable to the spirit of the time. A marker that will allow one to beat the rival they want and reach a position much easily, without any effort. The crypto FETÖ is the most amazing invention. It easily works. It spreads fear among the people. And it is not easy to wriggle out of.
