MHP's Adolescent Politics and AK Party Coalition

What MHP has been practicing is; adolescent politics. You know that adolescents have a specific psychology, which is antagonistic, a killjoy, have pimples on the face, and are trying to find a way within waves of identity crises. MHP's “we don't want it” attitude and the fluctuation in their manners are reminding us of the adolescent politics. On June 14th, MHP leader Bahçeli was saying; “There should be early elections. We can expect elections to take place on November 15th and the period following that, and we should be prepared for it.” He was talking about early elections until yesterday. Now, Bahçeli is acting the complete opposite direction. He is refusing the election government, early elections and the minority government that will lead to the elections.

Also, MHP is advising the establishment of AK Party and CHP government. Bahçeli is more interested in what the other parties do, rather than his own party. Actually, this manner is reflecting a serious getaway. It's not right for a party, which received 17% of the votes, to run away from being an actor or partner. This is equal to not assuming responsibility. People will say; “If you have a mind, use it for yourself.” Because, the advice is always given to the others! While saying that you love your country and the nation comes first, you are escaping from taking responsibility in these critical periods and presenting inconsistent behaviors. You are abstaining from activating your party and leadership for the manifestation of the national willpower as a government. I wonder how the MHP voter base will respond to this in the elections.

Now, the AK Party and MHP coalition is being talked about. However, it seems like early elections are certain. But still, the MHP and AK Party coalition is being mentioned as a weak possibility. The most emphasis is based on the “both parties' voter bases are the same” spot. It's being stated that their sociologies are the same. If sociology alone was valid in politics, would MHP have conducted the subcontracting of February 28th order by being included in the ANAP and DSP coalition? Thus, in the end, the personnel that administer that sociology are indicative. There is a massive difference between MHP's political personnel's imaginations, expectations and take on matters, and AK Party's personnel. For example, AK Party wants to continue with the reforms. This is the essence of the political elites' excitement and motivation. Like the new constitution, the Kurdish issue, and the changing of the system. However, MHP is completely status quo on these matters. They are saying “Won't allow you to touch, speak and I don't want”. There is a massive difference between MHP's political personnel's expectations and visions, and AK Party's personnel. The distance between both parties' political imaginations is great. Thus, the political shaping of the same sociology has presented completely different parties.

Will MHP establish the relation style, which they've formed with coalition sides in 1999, with AK Party? In other words, in a similar way to how MHP obeyed the lead actor of the February 28th system, Ecevit and Yılmaz, will MHP link with Davutoğlu or the AK Party leadership? Can MHP say that they are adapting to a political attempt that does benefit things for our country and possesses important hopes? Can they present the docility they present, when they are together with AK Party too? Can they join the AK Party politics, which is leading the making of a new constitution, the changing of the system and complete resolution of the Kurdish issue, with the docility they presented in 1999? This is the matter! If MHP does this, why not form a coalition with them? If MHP shows the adaptation, docility and loyalty, which they've presented towards the actors of the political parties that has voter bases away from each other, towards AK Party, it will be a good coalition! This way, MHP will get rid of adolescent politics. However, let's relate the last word to the reality we are experiencing. It seems that early elections are certain; thus, there won't be a government that is based on AK Party and MHP coalition.
