The recent election was quite important. Because this one was closely related with the conservatism politics, nationalisms, resolution process, new constitution and regional developments. We are required to evaluate the election results in these respects. Mathematical results should be read with a rational language, with economics, politics and sociology. The readings, which take the international power relations to the center or highlights elitist attitudes, will only drape the reality.
The recent election results show us that AK Party lost votes in every province of Turkey. These losses are around 14% in Elazığ, 20% in Bingöl and 30% in Urfa. There is no need to augment these numbers. Another reality is that AK Party had lost their position of acting single in politics. Conservative politics experienced a serious loss of votes and loss of rulership in these elections, after great spurts for 13 years. In order to explain this reality, we need to take a look at the sociology first. In other words, what are the reasons that caused the sociology, which led the election to this point, the facts which led the conservative politics to this point, and the nation to move towards the present results? These will lead us to thinking, researching and seeing the deficiencies-errors rationally. Instead of making the analyses of the elections with sociology, if the election results are completely explained by some supra-nation powers and their alliances, then the mistakes will keep continuing. If we move with an exclusionist and negative language like the Crusaders, illiterates, destroyers etc. then the loser will be AK Party. Because this type of reading reflects a deep arrogance, elitism and a mentality that is sterile from making mistakes. This approach will become a method of destroying the belief in AK Party in the long-term, rather than protecting it. Besides, as it is in all elitisms, it will amount to underestimating the willpower of the nation and disregarding it. In fact, AK Party is the group that mentions the willpower of the nation the most. Also, it's the willpower of the nation that entrusted the rulership to AK Party for the past 13 years. The willpower of the nation and Crusaders – outer forces statements will not stay side by side. Because, if we move the second one to the front, we will remove the nation from being the subject. Instead, the outer forces and other supra-nation forces will become subjects. As for the nation; it will turn into a passive existence that is being designed by those subjects.
In the recent years, AK Party steered from conservative democracy and had taken on some attitudes directed at nationalist conservatism. They did it with political pragma objective and aimed at receiving MHP's votes; on top of that, some advisors and intellectuals, who approached the rulership by steering from nationalist conservatism, represent this statement. As we always say, the address of the nationalisms was certain. As a matter of fact, one stimulated nationalism triggered the other. AK Party's conservative nationalism language caused some segment of the Kurds to steer towards the Kurdish nationalism. Thus, both nationalism started to rise. Polarization caused an increase in the nationalisms and helped them to feed.
Democracy, civil rights, world politics and hope in Turkey is what's included in AK Party's founding soul. Their New Turkey and democracy expansions arose from that fact. Since the beginning, they've applied the “good news politics”. More wealth and more experience. More wealth and more freedom. All the communal segments were seeing their share of this in AK Party. There were even people who didn't vote. They were, indirectly, AK Party members. This founding political spirit had gone through a transformation after the Arab Spring and Gezi incident. Outer-enemies, Crusaders, traitors, agents… New political epistemology was saying; fear. An anti-imperialism theory was becoming prominent. This is why the “invasion and salvation” expression was mobilized. The intellectuals, who voiced this, came to fore or the ones who are ahead of this steered towards it. However, this expression and the intellectuals, who voiced these, did not participate in AK Party's salvation and their founding existence. Fear kept the prosperity segments, which had been created by AK Party, from the excitement of hope after a certain point.
AK Party, beyond being a political party, is a movement that has various roles. They are a party, which administers Turkey, represents Islamists' acting, is based on a democracy coalition and creates the legitimacy and path of the Kurds' representation in the system. Thus, they are both politics and a movement. Thus, as much as the political strategies, they are obliged to pay attention to their ideality strategies. The deputies, candidates and presidents, who represent them, are not just politicians, but also the men of an identity. This is important for the motivation of the party organization and their pioneer actors. This is even more important in the rural areas.
AK Party is still the most important hope of this nation, geography and region. There is no other alternative on the horizon. They are still the most important option for the reconciliation of democracy and Islam. Thus; no stopping, moving on once again while keeping an eye on the road!
