Is NATO’s new 'cold war' declaration a means to reform bipolar world?

The historic NATO summit in Madrid was a concrete indication of why the Ukraine war happened, why the Aegean crisis further deepened, as well as the tensions in the West Balkans. We had the opportunity to follow the summit from start to end. Every step, from the bilateral meetings in Madrid to the routine hall meetings, was filled with clues to NATO’s new concept.

NATO, which presents both great gains and great risks in terms of Türkiye, declared Russia the primary threat in its new strategic concept. The NATO strategy, which remained unchanged since 2010, identifies from now on, fighting an “east bloc” with China attached to the side, or the “Eurasia Pact,” as its primary threat.

As a matter of fact, this identification gives Russia an opportunity similar to the one prior to the Cold War. It is like they are saying, “Keep those within your area of influence, and let’s build the bipolar world based on the opposition all over again.”

The new line, or the “virtual wall” from the Baltics to the Aegean, is now like the world’s new center of gravity. The world is being rebuilt based on bipolarity, like those on the right and left of the line. Multipolarity is no longer accepted by NATO and the U.S.

Furthermore, the regions remaining outside this line, and that have at least had a role in modern world history, are being stimulated again as nerve endings. This is the reason underlying tensions in the Balkans.

NATO identified Russia as a threat in its new strategy document. Obviously, the new concept U.S. President Joe Biden has been working on in fine detail since he came to office, has been applied meticulously in regions Russia was faced. In other words, Russia invaded Ukraine upon NATO, the U.S., and U.K.’s calls. The people of Ukraine were sacrificed. Ukraine has been destroyed.

NATO managed to expand its virtual wall during the Cold War, which suits its new concept, starting from the Baltics, all the way down to the Aegean! I say it managed, but I am also aware that I am talking about a great tragedy.

Regarding the expansion concept, the Madrid summit paved the way to passing another threshold. Sweden and Finland signed a memorandum with Türkiye. The part of the memorandum that concerns us is: The Democratic Union Party (PYD) and its armed wing, the People’s Protection Units (YPG) are now equivalent to the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK). This fact is now confirmed by NATO’s signed document.

The Fetullahist Terrorist Organization (FETÖ) is identified and accepted as a terrorist organization for the first time in an international text.

We will get to the memorandum, but let’s continue.

Finland and Sweden’s participation in the summit as prospective NATO members, Ukraine leader Volodymyr Zelensky speaking at the summit via remote access, showed the northern front in the new world order.

The Aegean section, which triggered tensions between Türkiye and Greece, the two countries situated at the middle zone of the new cold war’s new virtual wall, was discussed not with Greece but with the U.S. We will all see in the near future what changes have taken place there.

The Syria context of the one-hour-and-10-minutes long meeting between President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and his U.S. counterpart Biden will gain significance with the new version of Türkiye's, “we may come suddenly one night.”

The final declaration and the new strategy document of the historic NATO summit were a sign that the world order’s west cam would be redesigned. The other side, namely Russia and China’s response to this new strategy will signal either the start of a new bloody process or new balances in distribution.

NATO recognizes FETÖ as terrorist organization

A top-level politician we spoke to while waiting for President Erdoğan at Esenboğa Airport in the capital Ankara, said, “We must explain well to all our addressees that the YPG is the PKK. Together with our president, we will express this in a much stronger manner.”

The memorandum signed between Finland, Sweden, and Türkiye in Madrid also includes the YPG/PYD=PKK. Thus, Türkiye made its NATO partners and Western interlocutors accept the fact that it has been starting especially since the start of the Syrian civil war, and since the YPG invaded the north of Syria.

The second matter included in the same text is that FETÖ is also a terrorist organization. As a result, Türkiye's theories are now internationally accepted.  From now on, fighting both FETÖ and the PKK, as well as its derivatives (including the PYD-YPG) is guaranteed by our “allies.”

Additionally, everyone is aware of the Gladio organization charged by NATO regarding countries’ internal design. Everyone knows that it intervened in Türkiye many times through Gladio. The F-16s, which are sort of NATO aircraft, were last used by the despicable FETÖ members on July 15, 2016, bombed the Turkish Parliament, attacked the presidential complex, and struck our special operations center.

FETÖ is NATO’s Gladio. Therefore, there is now a Gladio – in other words, FETÖ - included in NATO’s documents as a “terrorist organization,” even if it is implicitly.
