PKK terrorist organization seeks a way to escape UAVs, but in vain

The unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) have become the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) terrorist organization’s “nightmare.” I say nightmare, because recently the PKK terrorist organization’s greatest loss is due to the UAVs.

As you know, previously, Turkey was dependent on other countries in relation to UAVs. They used to be ordered from allies and Israel with advance payment. The vehicles that were delivered late used to be operated by those countries. What’s more, using crises as an excuse, neither the vehicles which we paid for in advance were delivered on time, nor were the software and operation systems being upgraded.

Eventually, the bad ally led us to manufacture our own UAVs. What’s more, we also added armed UAVs to the Turkish Armed Forces’ (TAF) inventory.

Özdemir Bayraktar’s patience and Selçuk Bayraktar’s determination here are especially worth noting. Domestic UAVs and armed UAVs are also the result of their efforts. May they live long.

You are going to ask, “Why has the matter of these armed UAVs and UAVs come up?” I’ll tell you.

In addition to the fighting technique against the PKK, redeveloped in the recent period based on “area domination,” there is another method that is used much more effectively.

Everywhere that the PKK said was “impenetrable” and “out of reach” were destroyed by security forces through the “improved low-intensity combat” concept.

In addition to this, the tracking, location and destruction operations carried out with the UAVs led the PKK terrorist organization to pursue new methods. But in vain.

According to information I received from an effective source in the fight against terrorism, when the PKK lost its area of dominance and became helpless against the UAVs, it turned to new tactics.

For example, the PKK divided the teams that were previously in crowded groups. In response, the security forces also divided their teams in the area and decreased the number of personnel in the teams.

Hundreds of drones were also purchased along with the UAVs and armed UAVs. Those drones reportedly provide extraordinary contribution to the security forces on the ground.

When the PKK lost its dominance in the rural area, it apparently wanted to turn toward the cities. However, the license plate recognition systems that were previously deactivated with the efforts of the Fetullah Terrorist Organization (FETÖ)-member soldiers and police especially in numerous eastern and southeastern provinces have been reactivated. Additionally, the National Intelligence Organization (MIT), Gendarmerie and Police intelligence started to work in coordination.

My source says, “Members of the terrorist organization think we are tracking the organization with the UAVs and technical tracking alone. They are mistaken. The classic method is also very functional. In other words, the intelligence we provide through our contact staff. We track with the UAVs in the air and through our personnel on the ground.”

For example, he recalls the incident last month when the opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP) protected PKK terrorists saying, “They killed civilians with the UAVs.” He said, “Yet, that intelligence was not received through the tracking via UAVs only. Our personnel were also on the ground.”

And the last piece of information is that the great blow dealt to the PKK terrorist organization in recently with the UAVs and armed UAVs led to new pursuits in Qandil, the group’s headquarters in northern Iraq.

The number of UAVs and armed UAVs owned by the TAF is the primary question they have been trying to answer. But their efforts are futile.

Also, the terrorist organization apparently established an “aviation academy” as well as a “health academy.”

It appears that in the fight against terrorism, which restarted with our localized weapons industry and particularly our UAVs and unarmed UAVs, the terrorist organization is faced with the greatest loss in its history.

Let’s wish the same upon the PKK terrorist organization’s Syrian branch, the Democratic Union Party (PYD).
