The 'power you worship' won't be able to divide this country

Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Co-Chair Selahattin Demirtaş once again spoke to Western media and threatened Turkey. I don't know how many threats he has made so far.

However, his threat this time is similar to the one he made during the funeral of Tahir Elçi, the Diyarbakır bar president, after he was murdered by the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) terrorist organization on Nov. 28, 2015.

No I am not talking about his “We don't perceive the PKK as a terrorist organization,” or “The PKK is controlling 400 square kilometers of land,” statements.

That day at the funeral Demirtaş said: “It isn't the state that killed Tahir Elçi, it is statelessness.” With the above statement he publicly expressed his desire for a “PKK state.” Today he spoke to the English Financial Times and said, “Kurds have understood through history that they need power to succeed.”

Demirtaş should be asked the following questions:

First, by using the term “Kurds” you are making a generalization and trying to establish a tutelage through organizations like the PKK, HDP, the Democratic Union Party (PYD) and its armed wing People's Protection Units (YPG). Just last week, during my visit to Diyarbakır, I saw how the Kurds despised you. So do these Kurds think like you too?

Second, we knew what your intention was when you said, “Statelessness killed Tahir Elçi.” What are your intentions now when you say, “Kurds [PKK/HDP] need power to win?” Have you realized now that the blood you have shed for 30 years was not worth it? Or do you feel the need to go under the protection of a “power?” But haven't you already been subcontracting for different powers for many years? Haven't you changed your partner many times?

(Can it be a coincidence that this statement was made on the day U.S. flags were seen in Tal Abyad?)

And finally, do you have an expectation that the maps of the region including Turkey will change, just like the Gülenist Terror Group (FETÖ)?

You say, “The government has not left you any other option,” and you bless “terror.” Since you know “rejection and denial” has ended and that the government is dealing with assimilation, what really is your problem?

We are aware of your desire to form new alliances with different powers after Turkey intervened in the PYD corridor the U.S. was trying to form in Syria.

If you had asked your ancestors they would have told you. Your new allies will use you and throw you away like a dirty handkerchief.

You are not the protector of Kurds in this country. And you are not their only representative.

You say you need power to win. Well then it is an eye for an eye!

So whoever beats who, is that right?

You can persecute our nation but, you have to know that the power you worship will not be able to divide this country.

Then may the best man win!

We always knew how to return to our essence.

To our essence…

We would leave and then return once again…!

To our essence…

To our homeland..

To our soil..

To our motherland

To ourselves…

To where we came from.

We were always longing..

Always yearning.. Always waiting to return…

To our homeland.. To the place we came from… To the place we belong.

But what about now?

Things have changed.. We return to a foreign land…

To a place we don't belong to..

To a place we were exiled to…

We return!

This is life…

Becoming worldly is also like this…

We were the ones who used to go to return.

Now, we are the ones who go to come back from where we returned.

Our temporary places have become permanent…

Our connection with the permanent is based on returning.

We are returning at full speed…

We are running back to gain our worldly goods…!
