Why won't the U.S., EU, Russia, UN and some human rights organizations, who attacked Turkey by claiming that the century-old incident, in which both Turks and Armenians suffered damage, was a genocide, do anything against the Russian atrocity, which I've written previously, Chinese atrocity, which I'm writing now, the Israel and etc. atrocity, which I will write later on?
The following atrocity, which is dire enough to damage the joy of life of people who have a conscience, is being summarized on the website of World Uyghur Congress (DUC) and the websites of the Eastern Turkistan Culture and Unity Association, and I wish everyone would visit these websites.
Since my arrival in Istanbul in 1959, I have known the deceased İsa Yusuf Alptekin (1901-1991) and listened to him in many meetings. This person, who had assumed senior level duties like general secretary of Eastern Turkistan Republic, devoted his life to defending this community's rights. Now, these above institutions embarked on this case.
Eastern Turkistan accepted Islam together with the Ruler of the Karahan State (840-1212), Abdulkerim Satuk Buğrahan, and became the first geographical area where the Turkish Islam state had been established. Under the lead of Hodja Niyaz Hacı, the Eastern Turkistan Islam Republic had been established in Kashgar in 1933. In 1944, under the lead of Alihan Töre, the second independent Turkish state had been established in Gulca in the name of the Eastern Turkistan Republic. Both states had been collapsed by China. With the scarlet revolution of Mao in 1949, Eastern Turkistan had been invaded by violating the international laws. Following the physical invasion of the Chinese communist administration, a systematic assimilation process had started in Eastern Turkistan by mobilizing all its opportunities. The motherland of the Uyghur, Eastern Turkistan, has been under China's invasion for the past 65 years.
After invading Eastern Turkistan in 1949, the Chinese administration caused great destruction in every field, such as the religious and conscience independence, education, socio-cultural, economic and ecological fields with the so called revolutions they've started in the region.
Following the invasion, all the political leaders, intellectuals, scientists, ecclesiastics, the rich and opinion leaders had been imprisoned. Most of the people's right to defend themselves had been taken off their hands in people's courts, and they were either executed by firing squads or decayed in prisons with heavy punishments.
The Chinese occupant administration had actualized a total of 46 nuclear tests between 1966 and 1997 in the Lobnor region of Eastern Turkistan, while 11 of those tests had been conducted underground. As a result of this, hundreds of thousands of Uyghur lost their lives. As a result of the nuclear tests, the radioactivity spread to the region, and even now, people in the region are struggling against many deadly diseases like cancer. The environmental and ecological balance had been damaged.
The Chinese administration, which identifies religion as opium, implemented policies against the Muslims in Eastern Turkistan to make them religionless, and blocked their religion and conscience independence. By prohibiting kerchief and beard, they've even intervened with the lifestyles and beliefs of the Muslim Uyghur. They have prohibited fasting during Ramadan. “There is an entrance ban for communist party members, people below 18 years, laborers and civil servants, women and students."
Since there is a ban for having more than one child in the cities and two in the rural areas, as a result of the notice of agents, many pregnant women, with seven to eight months, had been forced to undergo abortion.
The Chinese administration is heavily punishing the innocent Uyghur civil community with the excuse of “radical Islamic terror" and isolating them from the world. And, by implementing every kind of state terror, they are trying to justify themselves. We've witnessed the latest example of this in the Urumqi massacre on July 5, 2009, which was almost observed live on TV by the whole world, and the world had kept quiet about this.
Under the name of land reform, the lands of the local community had been taken off their hands and were distributed to the Chinese.
Making everyone forget about the Uyghur Turkish, encouraging marriages with the Chinese, and alienating 6-7 year old children by taking them to China after separating them from their families…. Many more atrocities like these are still being committed.
