Mr. Ahmed Naim and racism

In his work entitled “Da'vay-i Kavmiyet”, Mr. Ahmed Naim explains the importance of a person's ideology formation, based on the race, lineage and tribe he/she belongs to, and that person's placing of lineage/race unity and brotherhood instead of Islam union and brotherhood, in Islam. While stating that he entered this argument after the two articles addressing the Arab brothers, in the Alliance newspaper within the first month of the Constitutional Monarchy, and he entered the “Religious fight against the Turkists” in the 212nd edition of the Sebilürreşad magazine, he continues and states the following (I'm summarizing by simplifying the text);

Our case is this; the ethnic belonging case/ideology is a case belonging to the pre-Islam period (Pre-Islamic age of ignorance) and reprimanded-refused by the religion, as Master Musa Kazım prescribed. It's a big blow towards Islam's survival and continuity, and towards the prosperity and felicity of the Muslims. Especially while a great portion of the Islam world had been captured by the heretics, it's insanity for a handful of Muslims to loosen the attachments between each other with cases like “I'm Turkish, I'm Arabic, I'm Kurdish, I'm Lazuli, I'm Circassian” – especially while the rapist steps of our enemy tramples our hearts –; the decision taken by the people, who are keeping the flag of tribes and racism, is also against the patriotism. The great calamity experienced by our Albanian brothers, who pursued the deceiving mirage of tribe and race happiness even if they distanced themselves from religion and faith, and, mind and consideration, is a lesson for us. According to the, “Same reasons creates the same results” principle, if we continue on the same path, this country, which is the final shelter of Islam, will turn into the country of heretics –God forbid!-.

If we leave aside a majority, who adapts to the crowd and doesn't know where and why they are going, we can see that the utter Turkist leaders are divided into two; Pure (utter) Turkists and Turkist-Islamists.

Utter Turkists wants to break off their relations with our traditions, and create a new common purpose, ideology, new faith, new tribe and new nation. When we listen to the prominent ones, we can summarize their cases as follows;

What made us pursue the tribal purpose were the dangers Turks encountered from inside and outside. The Turks, who made the biggest sacrifice for the perpetuity of the state until now, are now weakened. Their education, trade, industry and agriculture were ruined. Against all their sacrifices, they only saw rigor from all the Muslim and non-Muslim tribes living in this country. Now, it's time for reducing their sacrifice and focus on themselves. We need a new ideology for this. The Islam-relation will be on the second level. As long as the religion ideology makes us happy, we can pursue it. However, now that ideology has loosened, it means that we have no chance of surviving with the old faith. Besides, this tribe/nationalism case is an enthusiastic flood coming from Europe; it's not possible to stop it. If we are to advance by becoming modern, then we should not leave the European community (congregation). The religion-based ideology in Europe became ancient, if we still follow that path, then we will become ancient. In regards to this, this nation should first become Turkish, then Muslim. Besides, the outer Islam lands were captured by the Europeans, and the Muslim ethnic groups inside are not that close to each other in the name of Islam brotherhood. At this state, why shouldn't we work towards gathering a nation of eighty million (in that period), from the Bosphorus to the Ocean, that are from the same race and has the language, under one flag with the Turkishness ideology!
