Will President Erdoğan please reveal the truth before he 'makes a run for it'?

Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, we heard that you are getting ready to flee the country. You provided great services to this country and nation throughout your political career. When you took over Istanbul in 1994, it was a reeking swamp, inundated with garbage, and dotted with potholes. Yet, the city became unrecognizable within three years with your touch. In response to your achievements, you found yourself in prison during your fourth year in office.

Even prison couldn’t stop you. You launched preparations to rebuild Türkiye. You motivated your staff, planned your trajectory, and left prison with fresh ebullience. You founded your party as soon as you were free, and steered it to power a year later. As your party came to power alone, you were being tried for execution.

They could not stand the idea of you even as a village headman! Yet, you overcame all obstacles and became prime minister. Even though the Feb. 28 tutelage was ongoing at full throttle, you continued to strive. As if that was not enough, they said, “We will not allow you to be elected president.” You, on the other hand, took the authority to elect the president from them and gave it to the people.

They posted an e-memorandum, which you made them regret. They held rallies, trying to bring the military to power, but you did not give in. They attempted to shut down your party, but you stood firm. On the contrary, you called to account the putschists of Sept. 12. Then you called to trial Feb. 28’s mighty tutelage actors.

The more you eliminated “tutelage,” the more new moves came from “nefarious” powers. They drove to the stage the Fetullah Terrorist Organization (FETÖ), which had been operating on behalf of global intelligence organizations for the last half-century. FETÖ secretly plotted the Gezi Park events, and when it failed to achieve its purpose, it activated its police-judiciary wing. Police and judges took action in December 2013, and attempted a coup on behalf of the organization. It wasn’t long before they got their answer.

They eventually decided to do openly what they failed to achieve through deception and disorder, and had the audacity to carry out a coup and invasion attempt on July 15, 2016. That night, while someone lied, saying, “He fled to...” in reference to you, Fetullah terrorists were seeking in Türkiye’s skies with night vision glasses the aircraft that was labeled “presidency” – to shoot it down with you on board.

The people you called on flocked to the streets and, to embrace them, you landed in Atatürk Airport, from where opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP) leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu fled through the tankers. That night, you broke the chain of coups with the support of the people and banished the coup era to the dark pages of history, which started with May 27.

They did not give up and will not give up. They first launched financial terror attacks to break out an economic crisis. Then they drove to the battlefield political hypocrites, whom they gave ranks and authority for years. Some founded parties, some transferred to other parties, and some started to wait slyly for their turn. Kılıçdaroğlu, who slandered you today, claiming you will “flee,” had said the same thing in 2014, on FETÖ-member television broadcaster’s Ankara representative Abdullah Abdulkadiroğlu’s program as well. You remained in the country then, too. Yet the FETÖ-member TV host – to whom Kılıçdaroğlu spoke – as well as all FETÖ ringleaders fled the country.

You paved the way for the Sept. 12 and Feb. 28 putschist to stand trial. You made the May 27 regime history with the presidential governing system. You made legal regulations that would bind up the wounds of the victims of May 27. We cannot repay you no matter how hard we try, Mr. President, for all the things you did. But since you are going to “flee,” please do us one last favor.

Please conclude the issue of the 2016 coup, and then leave. For example, I am very curious as to why Kılıçdaroğlu, who says you will “flee,” waited all dressed up – as though he was ready for a special occasion – until dawn that night.

Kılıçdaroğlu was at Istanbul Atatürk Airport at about 11:00-11:30 p.m. on July 15. He did not know what to do when he saw the tankers appear before him, and sought shelter in the home of one of the district mayors of Istanbul. I noticed something as I was examining the footage and photographs of that night. Kılıçdaroğlu was wearing a navy tie in the footage taken at Atatürk Airport. However, the very same tie became “red” in the photograph taken of him watching the coup attempt on TV at the house in which he took shelter!

We all experienced the night of the coup. That night, some of us took to the streets, and some of us ran to work. Which one of us changed outfits? Did we have any time to think about clothes? Why did Mr. Kılıçdaroğlu change clothes while watching television in his shelter? Why did he remove the navy tie and put on a red one?

Mr. Erdoğan, who was with whom on the night of July 15, who called whom, who ran towards whom, who united, and who parted ways? What do the records and base station signals tell us? Was the current round table a square or rectangular one on that day? Was it virtual or real? Do us one last favor: Please reveal this first and then flee!
