AK Party came in first again; why are you rejoicing?

Don't be sad; don't grieve; don't despair; don't consider these results a fiasco. This party, which had been the rulership for the past 13 years, once again became the winning party of Turkey in yesterday's elections. They received votes over 40% and got ahead of other political parties by far.

In Turkey, there is a political structure that became the winning party consecutively 11 times. There is a party which outscored the first party after them with 16%. Even though they fell victim to the election system, which punishes the winning party, this is a victory.

We are talking about the election results, in which the party with 13% voting rate is giving victory speeches and CHP's leader is sermonizing as if they were the winners. They will never exceed AK Party; they are only rejoicing for the fact that AK Party's votes decreased just a little. This is their only luxury in politics. No political pursuit without AK Party is possible. A vast majority in Turkey preferred AK Party, and gave them the rulership mission once again.

Even though AK Party couldn't become the single rulership, even though they've lost some votes, they are still preserving their specialty of being Turkey's strongest party. The party will continue to be what it has been is the past and become the Turkish policy's mainstream power. They will question themselves, try to identify their mistakes, and in my opinion, according to this ,they will certainly renew themselves. Maybe they will re-establish themselves as a stronger party. AK Party has more than enough of a political mind, skill and experience to do so.

Substituting CHP with HDP

However, these elections have shown us other things that should be analyzed properly. The project, which was directed at re-designing Turkey's political structure, “the project of substituting CHP with HDP", had been successful. The status quo rulership powers have won an important front against the mentality that changed Turkey for the past 13 years.

Yesterday's elections resulted with an outcome that ended the single party rulership. From now on, there are no options other than; coalition, minority government and early elections. We have worries concerning the end of stable periods for Turkey.

The actual loser was CHP

The surprise in the elections was definitely HDP. Since the beginning, I believed that HDP would exceed the threshold. However, I never guessed that they would achieve this much success. HDP's rise and MHP's rise fed each other, and these two changes turned the results upside down.

A substantial amount of votes moved from AK Party to MHP, and it seems that Kurdish conservatives' votes were also directed at HDP. The increase in HDP's votes were considerably directed from CHP. CHP's central status quo role seems to have come to an end in these elections. Within this frame, we can say that CHP's role had been substantially adjudicated to HDP. Even though he sermonized cheerfully after the elections, we can say that quite troublesome days have started for Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu. Because, he has been the biggest loser in these elections.

Aydın Doğan and the certain front

Aydın Doğan and the environment he belongs to had put their signatures on serious political engineering. Maybe this will be the aspect discussed the most in these elections. This was a project that had deep effects on Turkey's political character. They attempted to create a status quo structure over HDP. The rulership game, which had been previously conducted over Turkish nationalism, had been conducted over Kurdish nationalism this time. This also points out that HDP's political mind had passed to the initiatives of the rulership founders.

They attempted to substitute CHP with HDP, and to construct a regime identity over Kurdish nationalism. This is the actual reason behind HDP's rise. Thus, in these elections, this project had been serviced over HDP and Kurdish nationalism. Even though in the short term it seems like HDP has won a victory, we can see that the powers, who had been designating Turkey's rulership tools for years, had won a victory in the long term. This is the only reason why Selahattin Demirtaş and his party presented a Baasist identity in the final period.

Prior to the election, actors outside Turkey also supported this project. Within Turkey, a complete front, including nationalists, social democrats and Islam biased people, like the Saadet Party, had been formed against AK Party. This was the engineering.

The target was Turkey's stability

Inside and outside, they've worked, not to bring a party to rulership, but rather, to prevent AK Party from becoming the single rulership, and they succeeded in doing just that. They've targeted the single party stability in Turkey. More precisely, they targeted the momentum, build-up, challenging attitude Turkey gained in the last couple of years. For them, Turkey was advancing towards becoming a regional power with a crushing political expression, and Turkey had to be humbled. With these election results, they've hit AK Party and Turkey both.

Thus, yesterday's elections became one of the most critical elections in Turkey's history. We've witnessed the erosion and transformation of many political identities. HDP became the winner of the elections, while CHP became the actual loser. From now on, CHP's identity will be seriously questioned. It's a radical situation for the ones, who established rulership over Turkish nationalism, to discover Kurdish nationalism and ascribe CHP's role in that.

Is a coalition possible?

Then, will there be a coalition from these results? Will AK Party and MHP form a coalition? Demirtaş neutralized the option of a coalition with AK Party. Can the developers of this political display's project unite CHP, MHP and HDP under a single roof? I have no doubt that they are thinking about doing this and planning to do so. The ones who formed the front might have made preparations for this alliance also. In such a case, it's clear that MHP will experience great destruction.

MHP might show some sensitivity on the matter of a coalition, and exclude itself from all these projects for the sake of Turkey's future. An AK Party-MHP coalition might be a strong rulership. However, it's too early for such an option and it seems difficult.

AK Party might not be willing on the matter of a coalition. Maybe there are some who are thinking about a CHP-MHP coalition with HDP supporting them from the outside. This will also be a calamity for the country, and it will not have a long life.

Is this a return to Old Turkey?

Of course, as of today, all of this is speculation. However, in every aspect, troublesome days are around the corner for Turkey. Any political structure without AK Party will be equal to Turkey's return to the old days.

Let me repeat; even according to these results, any political equation without AK Party will not be lasting in Turkey. AK Party had come out as the strongest party of Turkey, even from these elections. If we are to look at the front established against it; this is also a victory!
