A wave of hate and ugliness has been gaining in strength in recent days in places that range from Australia to the United States and from Germany to the Middle East’s Islamic countries.

Schools are raided and children are murdered. Cafes are raided and people are taken hostage. Swastikas are painted on the walls of mosques. German racists, with backing from the state, organize the largest mass demonstrations in the post-World War II era.

They take to the streets against the “Islamic threat,” and German intelligence, and a section of German society, supports them. Just like news items about those who attack people by shouting “Allah-u Akbar” (God is great); the media is awash with extensive news articles related to the theme of “Islam, the religion of violence and terrorism.”

While racism-related violence increases in the United States, the footfalls of fascism can be heard in Europe.

The quest to make monsters out of Muslims results in attempts to produce racist monsters to oppose these “monsters.”

Just like the campaigns to combat terrorism in the period around 1995. Like the period when anti-terrorism centers were established in Muslim countries and in other critical regions. Just like those periods when the planet was placed on alert against “a great disaster,” like the time when even Muslim countries were dragged into the fray against this “threat,” like the time when this threat was cited as an excuse to occupy many countries, drag them into war and create dozens of fronts.

If such a campaign exists, then that means something’s brewing.

It means there is a serious operation being planned for the near future. We can’t say what will happen but something out of the ordinary is being forced, and this doesn’t bode well.

It is scary and appalling when one thinks of the tensions between Russia and the United States and Europe, the current state of conflict in Syria and Iraq, the perception of violence and terror being spread by using ISIL as a pretext, videos of beheadings, the manner of the slaughter and the placing of people in front of firing squads, the renewal of the debate in many countries to reinstitute capital punishment, hundreds of Taliban members awaiting execution, and the fact the centers to combat terrorism and secret prisons continue to remain operational.

The coming to the fore, particularly in Germany, of a political will that releases racists onto the streets given all that is occurring globally; and a resurgence of news articles regarding “ugly Islam” and “Islamic terrorism” which occupy the entire agenda, just as was the case 10 years ago, increases our suspicions and concerns.

No organization can exist independent of a state. No organization or armed group can operate independent of intelligence agencies. When we look at such organizations in our near environs and geographical region during the past 20 years – regardless of whether they promote an Islamist ideology or any other ideology – they are all linked to intelligence agencies.

Post-occupation Iraq, in this sense, serves as a laboratory. Dozens of organizations were created, trained and sent to the front lines by groups involved in Iraq. These organizations committed serious acts of slaughter and massacres. Major ploys were carried out on the basis of these organizations to tarnish the image of Islam.

What on the surface looks like those organizations adopting positions on the basis of the civil war in that country, or on the basis of their stance on the occupation of the country, is actually nothing more than behind-the-scenes powers telling the majority of those organizations what roles to adopt. The tasks that were previously delegated to states in the region are now delegated to organizations.

This situation is not related to just Iraq or any other individual country either. It exceeds all that and is part of a long term strategy of chaos, where organizations are merely being used to tarnish the image of Islam and Muslims.

That has always been the grand aim. The grand aim is to separate the threads binding this geography is such a way that it won’t be able to recover for decades, and to prevent a political will from emerging in this region. This is why legitimate forces and movements with a powerful political discourse were the target of rage, and were furiously attacked. This constitutes the source of the problems that Turkey has been faced with.

Now they have started a new period of confrontation targeting image. In the upcoming period we might be witness to such news articles becoming more widespread and being transformed into a campaign of fear. The embracing of the extreme right by the United States and Europe, and their welcoming of racism, is part of their plan to utilize the rage and energy generated by such actions to ensure their global calculations materialize.

Turkish public opinion and Turkish media have always been tolerant toward Germany. The psychological basis for this is the shared fate of the two countries during WW I. Cracks could emerge in this closeness that has lasted for decades. The reason for these cracks will be Germany’s adopting an anti-Turkey position, doing so openly, and becoming the flag bearer of the thesis of animosity against Islam.

It was due to this closeness that we buried deep in our hearts the pain caused by the torching of our citizens in German cities and towns. We didn’t raise too much of an outcry, and opposition to Germany was never generated in Turkey. It wasn’t permitted. However, given the recent reckless interventions in Turkey’s internal affairs, the intervention in Turkey by resorting to associations in Germany and Austria, and the policy of the Berlin administration to fuel a wave of racism and place it in the frontline of the anti-Islam front, might result in a response.

I think even Germans are closely following Germany’s excessive prominence in this new wave that I have mentioned. This does not depict them in a good light. The world, particularly the geographical region we are located in, is aware of such types of covert operations and knows well what they entail.

We will continue to resist against the destructive and divisionary policies that the United States and Europe try to implement on the basis of racism, and which Israel tries to implement on the basis of the extreme right. We will continue to proceed with a stance that brings together and unites.

We will also stand strong against those who try to impose on us the new campaign in question. That is because this geographical region has borne witness to what was done for a century. It has opened its eyes to such actions and is immune to them now. Despite the presence of idiots amongst us, we will use our societal awakening as a shield against these sinister winds that are blowing.

Do not let the enemies scare you.

Those in our vicinity who are opposed to us better not try to strike fear into us.

Do not let those on the inside who commit betrayal by making use of this enmity daunt you.

Pay attention to how some domestic media outlets that attack the government daily and disseminate articles in a cunning and systematic manner intended to wear down the government, don’t emit the slightest sound regarding this new danger, particularly the rise of racism in Germany, and don’t even deem it newsworthy…
