ISIL might strike Turkey

ISIL (Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant) placed Jordanian pilot Muaz Kasasbeh in a cage and burned him alive. The world was left speechless in the face of such a display of barbarity. Jordanian King Abdullah was enraged and said, “We will attack them until they are exterminated, and until our fuel and bullets run out.”

That was when I said “Oh dear;” because they are drawing Jordan into a trap. The manner in which the pilot was killed was purely intended to provoke Jordan, and the king took the bait. Via ISIL, Jordan would be dragged into a war and instability would be exported to that country as well.

The attacks commenced, made the news for a few days, the Jordanian public was mollified and the climate was calm again. The king probably knew that he wasn’t capable of destroying ISIL alone, or he sensed the trap being laid and realized he was being drawn into a quagmire. The ISIL threat, however, remains for Jordan.

A scenario is being implemented across the region by resorting to organizations, and work on the drafts for a new regional map is being carried out. I am persistently trying to draw attention to this new situation but am convinced that it hasn’t been fully comprehended. This is because everyone in Turkey usually focuses on a single organization, a single incident or a single country and never looks at the map as part of a bigger picture. This makes it difficult to understand this great danger and wave of instability that is approaching.

Let me cite another example:

WHY DID EGYPT STRIKE LIBYA!

Yet again it was ISIL that abducted 21 Egyptian Copts on Feb. 12. It then killed these 21 people and disseminated images of their execution. The Copts comprise a significant portion of Egypt’s population. Just before the incidents that led to Hosni Mubarak’s ouster, bombs went off all over the country and the conditions were prepared for a Muslim-Christian or Arab-Copt civil war. Later it emerged that these bombings were carried out by members of the Israeli intelligence service and arrests were made.

Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, the junta leader who ended the first democratic transformation in Egypt’s history through a coup, attacked Libya after these images were disseminated by ISIL. Egyptian war planes struck predetermined locations in Libya, and revenge attacks were underway.

Various organizations are growing in strength on the one hand in Libya, which has been engulfed in chaos ever since Muammar Gaddafi was toppled, while Gen. Khalifa Haftar, who has U.S. backing, is being promoted on the other hand. The solidarity that exists between Haftar and Sisi is very interesting. While on the topic, let me state that it looks like this state of affairs will continue until Libya is torn apart.

Bombing Libya did not suffice for Sisi, and he issued a call to the United Nations for an international coalition. He also suggested that Egypt and Italy strike Libya together.

Two conclusions can be drawn from this: Egypt has stopped its democratic transformation for now via the military coup, which has the support of the United States and Europe. These powers backing the coup must have felt really threatened by the democratization of the region to have started promoting a junta administration as a model for the region. The type of administration in place in Egypt is a structure that is also very acceptable for other monarchies in the region. These administrations, in order to get rid of the threat posed by democracy, set about eliminating the Muslim Brotherhood, which was active throughout the region, with complete international consensus and thereby paved the path for a structure like ISIL to emerge.

MAJOR TRAP SET THROUGH ISIL

We are back to square one. The regional scenario being implemented via organizations manifests itself in this shape in Egypt and Libya. Let me make clear that regardless of the junta administration thinking that it has earned the support of the West through this move against ISIL; it too is being drawn into a trap like Jordan. Cairo is being dragged into a zone of instability with clashes in the Sinai on the one hand, and the war scenarios concerning Libya on the other.

What are the United States and Europe up to? They are using ISIL to lessen the impact of the Muslim Brotherhood. In this way they earn the gratitude of the region’s authoritarian regimes while also implementing a program to dissolve those very same regimes by resorting to ISIL.

Pay attention and you will see that the organization, which was active in Syria, was quickly transformed into the main determining force in Iraq. Following that it directed its attention to Jordan and Lebanon. Now it is becoming active in Libya and Egypt as well. It won’t be long before we see it emerge in Yemen and a few other countries. The final stop will be Saudi Arabia. The Riyadh administration, due to its animosity toward the Muslim Brotherhood, has already been led into a trap through ISIL, and by Iran as well.

MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD BELT TRANSFORMED TO ISIL BELT

For years I mentioned the “Muslim Brotherhood belt that extends from Sudan to Syria” and said the Muslim Brotherhood will be the engine that powers regional change. This was because it was the only and strongest structure opposed to existing regimes in this wide region. In a strange twist, the United States, Europe and regional regimes started purging the Muslim Brotherhood throughout the region. The vacuum that was created was filled by ISIL.

THIS IS AN EXTRAORDINARY PLAN…

It is a wide-ranging project concerning the 21st century. A freedom-seeking opposition is being replaced with an organization or mindset that embodies violence and terror, and is becoming entrenched throughout the region. The region’s awakening, transformation and enlightenment is being condemned to a dark corner in this manner.

I am drawing attention to the use of organizations to destabilize the region, drag it into chaos, dissolve countries and societies, and the danger of division. Grave danger lurks but unfortunately not many people are aware of it. The issue is not ISIL but the mindset behind this organization which is implementing a strategy of dissolution on a regional scale.

TURKEY WILL BE NEW TARGET OF THE ORGANIZATION

The Shia were the first target of ISIL. It had sprung into action in Syria and Iraq to counter Iranian influence. It was using Sunniism. It suddenly changed strategy and directed its attention toward Sunni Kurds. I have not come across a convincing argument yet that explains this surprising turn of events.

I will now say what I should have said right at the beginning: There is a strong possibility that ISIL, which is targeting the entire region, will strike Turkey as well. To be honest, I am worried about an attack based on the spread of activity I have mentioned above. I believe ISIL will direct its attention toward Turkey and make it a target in the coming months, in the same way that it did in regard to the Kurds.

Some people will try to test Turkey via this organization. Everyone should be very alert…
