Turkey has changed its logo “Made in Turkey” which has been used for 64 years. Turkey transformed the logo “Turkey” into its national trademark, which was conceptualized with the slogan “Discover the Potential” and embellished with Anatolian motifs in the Turquoise color.
At first glance, we may consider this branding as a commercial invention as in the globalization sense of Turkish economic power. At any rate, it is so. We appreciate those who contribute to the new logo prepared by the Ministry of Economy and the Turkish Exporters Organization, or TİM.
I think that the new logo and slogan will stir up a long controversy. I believe in the upcoming days this will create a wave of excitement especially in the economy and business sectors, along with the assessment of its symbolic meaning in great details.
On the other hand, in my opinion, this innovation brings in much more than what its mental transformation sense comprises. The concept of “New Turkey”, while it is perceived as a slogan in certain circles, becomes clearer every passing day that it represents the mental transformation reality of Turkey.
This mental transformation is an attempt to guide oneself, to one’s own reality and sources, memory and also govern its future.
It’s Turkey’s identity struggle and its struggle for oneself.
THE PESSIMISTS OF ANATOLIA
This struggle means ending the unfortunate events, which slashed deep wounds in our political history, closing the 20th century, and renovating the non-native state ideology. It’s a new foundational and social agreement struggle.
It’s a struggle to look into our local values, regional values and landscape sensitivities with our own eyes, from Anatolia, Istanbul. It’s the struggle to establish our own statements, shape our own mental mapping. This means a salvation from the tutelage and becoming free in real terms.
Indeed, it’s the struggle to be free from all types of identity-based discriminations that are located at the neural system of this landscape, ranging from internal politics, economy and foreign politics to social relations. It’s the struggle of searching for a new brotherhood and common base.
This is a struggle to tell the pessimistic people of Anatolia that this landscape is not the place for pessimism and it is not its destiny, either.
It is this struggle to discover the potential that what Turkey, Anatolia and our people, history and our common wealth gave to us.
When saying “Discover the Potential”, it means an urge for discovering the power, wealth, common base, bridges to hearts, opportunities and experience.
The landscape, which extends from the Middle East, the Balkan, Caucasia, Atlantic to the Pacific shores, is the main location of this discovery, perception. It’s necessary that our perception, our relationships with these regions must be saved from third parties and purified from the correct/wrong charts that have been imposed to us.
This is not an imperial perspective at all. This simply expresses our common sentiment and quest as a nation, which went through the same troubles and experiences a similar fate, deprivation and despair like all others in this vast zone towards the end of the 19th century. After a period of time, we will see how this common quest will turn into a similar political language.
THE GREATEST OBSTACLE IN OUR MINDS!
Turkey does not have to re-experience the same fate from scratch. This struggle is being led against those who want to impose on us the same century and conditions. While discovering our potential, opportunities power and identifying our weakness, let us keep in the mind that we are giving a century-long struggle and that we are striving to rise and lay foundations for the bridges to increase.
In this new period, the greatest obstacle is in our minds. Those, who do not want to compromise because of their mental comfort and continue to have their privileges and immunity, block off the way against new Turkey with their brand-new projects and political discourses. They want to impede Turkey’s quest and return the country into its old deprivations and despair, because only in this way, they can persist with their immunities and because this is the only way, they can keep Turkey governable by certain figures.
Notice how similar the Baath regimes in the Middle East and Pancasila in South Asia are to the Turkish sort of Baath regime. They are almost using the same principles and essence. Their political discourse is all the same and possesses the same notion of state and nation. This is not a coincidence. This is an imposed state-nation perception, which was imposed to us. That’s the reason they were led by tutelary regimes.
However, these discourses are now over. They have no correspondence today. A new world is being established and the power maps are being re-shaped. The unipolar world scenario has collapsed and finally the new global centers are formed. When all these things happen, no one can tell us about “disaster scenarios” or “axis shift” or “fault line” or “war landscape” etc. related to our geography.
These types of definitions and the old conceptualizations have no correspondence and will never ever have any. Moreover, in the state mind there won’t be any correspondence as such as a new condition.
THEY WILL LOSE SLEEP
We are heading for a term in which we are returning to our nature. This is a term in which we re-establish ourselves and settle the re-structuralization period through a state-nation integration. In this new period, old hostilities, menaces, the old security perceptions won’t have any place. People won’t be allowed to slit each other’s throat because of their identities. We will act realizing the fact that the difference of identity is one of the sources of such great potentiality.
Turkey’s power is possible only through discovering itself and its landscape. This is what we are experiencing today. This is the great transformation period. Every step that is taken feeds this great transformation. Starting from our symbols, colors and hearts, we will re-build our new world.
Those who do not understand this transformation or don’t believe in it or hinder it are trying to give a strong struggle with their internal and external collaborators.
This is not their one-day struggle for authority. This is an attempt to dispel the amazing energy, which the state-society integration gave birth. They wage this war to stop its groundbreaking increase, which this amazing energy caused. This war is led against Turkey and the people of Anatolia.
Turkey: Discover the Potential slogan is not only a trademark or symbol. It’s the story of an amazing mental transformation. If you consider this and other similar developments and innovations altogether, you will see what a great dream Turkey is built on.
Behold, it is the new Turkey. You will realize who will be annoyed with what kind of disturbance with this new Turkey, because they know what kind of transformation this will lead for both us and for our landscape.
It’s not confined to Turkey. This movement expresses the end of the tutelage in this landscape, the re-establishment of the new global system and the re-changing of the power maps.
Wait for the time! You will see how they will lose sleep over Turkey.
