Turkey is experiencing a multidimensional showdown, the most dangerous one in the history of the Republic. This is a showdown between the founders of the old government and the new. A fight between the pro-tutelage circles of the old and the national resistance elements of the new. This is a struggle between the asylum-seekers of the old and the new ones who want to transform Turkey to make new history.
This is the competition of the brave with the obtrusive, the challengers with the trustees, the old privileged minority with the people of Anatolia. This is the competition of those who closed the tutelage bracket a century later, those who have realized that Turkey is not only Anatolia with those who have taken our minds hostage, and those who want us to go through another 20th century.
This is the first time the history of the Republic is witnessing a showdown with the lines so clear, the sides so sharp. And since it is a complete historic breaking point, the words used and methods of battle are quite sharp. This is because either Turkey is going to continue with its skills to transform itself, to create a strong foundation in the new global power map and build a new future, or be taken under tutelage once again to continue its existence as a country without any personality.
If it doesn't grow it will downsize, if it doesn't rebuild itself it will be destroyed. One merely needs to look at World War I, the Gallipoli War or the War of Independence to see well the sides of the showdown. At a moment when Anatolia, the place where the remainders of the empire gathered as the last asylum, came to boiling point, a similar new attack was started. In the past it would be kept under control through tutelage methods and at the moment it surpassed the point of control, that mutual front on the inside and outside took action.
Reading today is of course not going to be with valor. But it is also not going to be with shuffling in narrow spaces or gossip. If we become obliged to them, then we will have lost the showdown. In such situations, political discourse and becoming organized, ethnic identity, sectoral identity, regional plans and political attitudes mean nothing. As we see in many countries in our region, after a certain point, only the nation, country and people remain. All identities and definitions behind these become nonsensical.
Our political parties, nongovernmental organizations, leaders need to be aware of the plain fact we are in the nerve endings of the people who are standing quietly but straight in almost every city, and determine where it will ground its feet based on this truth.
I have been mentioning for days the "three close threats" in front of Turkey: The "domestic invaders," "intellectual terrorists" the "politically impotent."
If you examine the developments under the light of these developments; you will understand who has chosen which line, who is waging whose war, how positions suddenly become foreign as soon as the country and people are in question, how they are trying to shape Turkey camouflaged by an internal political conflict, who they consider threats and who they will execute once they take over the power of the government. You will see how the domestic invaders will surround the central government and the kind of tutelage system they want to establish, how they finance all kinds of "short circuit government" projects through internal conflict, how these plans are sold to the public opinion through these intellectual terrorists, how they have the country in a lock through political instabilities and how they neutralized Turkish politics.
You will see the blood dripping from the pens of intellectual terrorists, that they shoot anybody in their way with Kalashnikovs. You will see that they have become the gunmen of the same project through blood, through assassination of reputation. You will see that these writers who are unable to form a single positive and constructive sentence beyond extremely shallow, angry and hate sentences, who are unable to bring any suggestion and have lost respect for the country and people, have not said, cannot say a single word against the PKK. You will see the adjustments made to Turkey through an armed organization, all of them hiding behind this organization, taking revenge through them.

Turkey is under a shameless attack. Those who hide behind the PKK, those who shoot from under its shadow, are just as responsible for the blood spilled by the PKK. While some commit these murders openly, others do it obtrusively, without any character. There is an invasion attempt to take the southeast of the country through the PKK, to push the government outside of these regions. In the strict sense, this reality which Turkey has faced for the first time, much outside terror, would have extended further and the country would have been surrounded if the North Corridor aimed at taking the entire borderline from the north of Syria to the Mediterranean.
Prior to this final scene, street terrorism and the Dec. 17 coup attempt were also their doing. The Gezi riot was a coup attempt marketed through environmental sensitivities. Dec. 17 was a coup attempt made, camouflaged by corruption. Now they have gathered organizations, political circles, certain capital groups and terror in a single front. Today they are carrying out a coup attempt through terror, through the PKK. As their final hope, they are trying to throw Turkey into the fire, trying to turn it into Syria. For them, this country is one that is kept under a manageable area, small but their own, the term nation is equivalent to herds, and is managed by governments subject to sleeping controls. They are trying to take the country hostage through their power and profit plans. They are trying to clear the dirty scenario through intellectual terrorists. Media outlets are working with the PKK. Their writers are using the same language as terrorists. TV showmen are singing praise to terror. The soldiers and police officers who were martyred, the people in the southeast killed simply because they weren't PKK supporters mean nothing to them.
Notice that the leaders of the Dec. 17 coup attempt have fled this country. Those who financed them fled too. The domestic invaders carrying out operations through terrorism may face the same fate. The members of intellectual terrorism may be stuck between the country and people and the domestic invaders. They won't even be able to understand who destroyed them. This nation has been resisting since the Crusades. It has been in resistance since the Mongolian Invasion. It is trying to stand on its feet since World War I. It has faced hundreds and thousands of kinds of games. It will negate this game too. It has a strong tradition of resistance, instinct, foresightedness and tolerance. All your plans might be for nothing, and it will be so.
One day, those invaders might fall into the same position as Akın İpek. One day, those intellectual terrorists may fall into the position of certain media members who fled the country. One day, those who are politically impotent may be wiped out from the hearts of this nation. The country, cities and the nation's memory will remain permanent. The period of adjusting Turkey, shaping the country through ordered projects, ordered words, ordered personality models has long ended. It is no longer a period of fancy words, truths are having a showdown now. Those hiding under the shadow of the PKK's arms; those having a showdown with Turkey through terrorism will lose. If Turkey is going to remain standing, they must lose. This is why the showdown is so great.
