We are in a major war as individuals.

We are in a major war as societies.

We are in a major war as states and nations.

As a matter of fact, this time we have an unknown enemy (COVID-19-Corona) with whom we do not have much experience and have very little knowledge thereof.

The defense preparations and tactics we have made, supplies we have amassed to date are of no use here.

Our nuclear weapons, missiles, tanks, aircraft, defense fortresses are useless.

Our wealth, comfort, lifestyle, means and abundance have no use.

The preparations we made by accumulating resources, assets, knowledge and technology to protect our country, our state, our people and our borders (things some countries have done at the cost of starving their people) are helpless against this enemy.

We are face to face with a new threat, a new danger. We are now gathering our information. We are joining our experience and means. We are launching a new sort of defense all over again.

Of course the human race is going to overcome this too with the knowledge and experience it has acquired. It is going to defeat this enemy. It is going to prevent a virus from threatening and destroying humanity.

Perhaps brand-new threats will follow. New attacks will come our way. They are all going to be in this field, because the form the future will now take is now obvious. We are clear on what we will encounter. The future of humanity is taking on a brand-new state. It is as if we are entering a new age, a new era, and approaching an extremely radical breaking point.

Of course, humanity has a destiny as well. The world, living creatures, the environment and the human race has a destiny. We cannot know what this divine destiny is. We cannot know the future. However, we know the information given to us and what we can reach. In light of this, we can gain experience and find methods to fight.

Having gained this experience, we are going to fight not only the coronavirus but also other threats that may follow. We are going to gain new knowledge, fresh experiences. We are going to make great strides in protecting ourselves.

Perhaps, after this breaking point, we are going to build a brand-new world – one that is more just, more humane, more at peace with nature, with more self-respect, more protected but also humbler.

The earth is going to reset itself. Humankind is going to reset itself. We are going to stop and take a look at ourselves. We are going to question ourselves, asking: where are we, how are we, where do we want to go, how do we want to be, and what kind of world and life do we want.

What we are experiencing could be the subject of a fantastic novel, a science fiction dissertation, or even the most extreme conspiracy theory.

Had someone said that we would be experiencing all this, that the whole world would lock themselves into their homes, that even the most basic human relationship would end, that people would run from one another and take cover, that states and institutions would constantly make “stay at home” calls, that places of worship would be closed, that the Kaaba would close down, that places of business would close, that cities would face the threat of evacuation, that humanity would mobilize to defeat a virus, it would have been considered as the biggest conspiracy theory, the extremist fantasy tale.

Yet, we are now living this reality. We have no idea what will come next.

History has witnessed great destructions and epidemics. History has been rebooted and restarted. New establishments, new rises have started.

Very painful lessons were learned, but then the same mistakes were made again. However, these were all limited to specific countries and regions. This is the first time an epidemic has spread to such an extent. Almost no place on this earth is out of its reach.

Unlike all the previous epidemics, this time our opportunities, knowledge, health skills, treatment methods, and medical equipment are substantial. We have the means to manage this threat.

We are in a much more powerful state than those in the past. Hence, our hopes are high. We believe we are going to succeed. Though, we must not compromise our measures. We only need to limit our areas of freedom for a temporary time period.

History has already been reset. Neither good nor bad will be ‘as it used to be’

However, history has already been reset. It has been rebooted like never before. The point we have reached in knowledge and technology, the change we experienced had already brought us to the brink of certain things. Only a single step remained to reach a brand-new world. The epidemic accelerated this.

The saying, “Nothing is ever going to be the same,” was never so true. We now need to look toward the future, not the past. The future is at hand. Neither good, nor bad will be “as it used to be.”

After geographical discoveries, this is the first time, ever since the start of colonialism that the world is undergoing such a power shift, power void, power consumption. Countries may change places. Nations may change places. Massive population movements are likely. Countries with weak power domains, weak state coordination may collapse.

The West may become the East and the East may become the West. The North may transform into the South and the South into the North. The nations controlling the world may collapse while new ones may take to the stage. The perceptions of state and homeland may change. Political language and forms of political organization may change.

It seems that everything produced and imposed to the world by the West in the form of a global discourse and order is coming to an end. The West has already lost its “central” power. The standards of value may change radically. Crazy ideologies may emerge. The notion of power could be redefined.

The West’s financial system is collapsing. Its political system and discourse are collapsing. Its security theories are collapsing. Its social theories are collapsing. Humanity no longer has any expectation of them.

Centuries-old history has ended. History has turned over a new leaf. A new world is being established. As a matter of fact, this is nothing like the post-world war periods. It looks like a much more solid, much more radical change.

New political orders will be established. New economic models will be developed. New lines of businesses, new consumption habits will begin. New political movements, new live models will develop. New superpowers will emerge. New discourses and models will develop with respect to the management of resources, markets and masses.

We must note that as of now, Turkey is conducting more successful coordination, a more effective fight than most of the world’s central powers.

The state, central power, leadership, institutions, public formations, and citizens are handling matters in great harmony. If there are going to be any countries to rise post-corona – and there will be – Turkey is going to be one of them.

The coronavirus epidemic will be overcome. Even if new epidemics follow, they too will be overcome. However, the establishment of a new world cannot be postponed. The epidemic expedited a gradual inclination and turned the great breaking point into an earthquake.

Of course, we are going to learn from the past, from human history, but we are going to look toward the future. We are going to walk towards the future. We are going to predict societies, state perception, production and consumption models, needs, beliefs and values, life models, personal tendencies and interests of the future. We are going to prepare accordingly and build the future.

Those who do this, those who emerge stronger following the breaking point, those who open the doors of the future are going to take to the stage as superpowers. The others will be left out in the cold.

Yes, time has stopped, history has been reset.

We are going to start everything from scratch.
