A revolution between love and hate

On the sixth day of the incidents in Iran, the streets tell us of the story of a revolution stuck between love and hate.

Because the Iranian revolution has those who love it as well as those who hate it. There is the story of young revolution lovers who ran to stand up against the bullets of the Shah’s soldiers in the streets of Tehran in 1979. Now, most of them are in the Behesht al-Zahra graveyard.

This is the way revolution’s rule works: Revolution is possible through love, not rationality.

The revolutionaries are in love with it, they will not see it through rationality and logic. What they call “revolution love” is an emotion intense enough for one to even sacrifice their life for.

Like love, revolutions can be understood, interpreted and accepted through emotions.

You either love revolution or hate it’

In Iran, while the streets were filled with those who believe the revolution ruined their lives, those who are unhappy about the revolution, those who hate revolution, as of yesterday, those who are in love with the revolution, those who believe in the revolution and who are loyal to the leader of the revolution took to the streets. Love and hate flowed simultaneously in the streets.

“You either love revolution or you hate it.” This is where those who were behind the Iranian revolution and those who ruled the country to date have brought the situation.

Yet, a revolution carried out with such strong emotions should have been turned into love. Similar to how the infatuation between the two people must turn to love for them to be able to make a happy marriage, it requires a little bit of rationality and logic.

 However, that just didn’t happen.

An attempt against God’

In Mashad and Qom, two of the most sacred cities of Iran, it was only the voices of a retired man whose premiums were bankrupt in finance institutes or a poor man who had rebelled against his inherent poverty that had rose. In other words, it was a human reaction, an objection from within life.

Those objections had nothing to do with religion, the revolution, ideology or belief. They were the problems ordinary citizens went through in the middle of life.

The
Revolutionary Guard Corps
made a statement:

“Every attempt against the Wilayat al-Faqih [the guardianship of the Islamic jurist, i.e. religious leader Khamanei], is an attempt against our [innocent] imams and hence, an attempt against God.”

This must be the kind of love that makes one go mad.

Look at how the love for revolution turns into hatred against everybody who even slightly objects to it.

The revolution and its leader becoming the holy and untouchable representative of God on earth could only be possible through blind love and faith.

Demonstrations will soon be over

The demands of the people on the street making a humane objection has been turned by some into anti-regime sentiment, and by the U.S. and Israel into a demonstration to topple the regime. Eventually, Khamanei identified these protests as an attempt by his enemies through weapons, money and agents.

The demonstrations will be over soon. It is not possible for a demonstration backed by the U.S. and Israel, identified by the Revolutionary Guards as a “rebellion against God” and said by the state head to be “the provocation of enemies” to last long anyway.

This uprising will end either in bloodshed or without.

The regime’s problems were not discussed again

Once again, it was not possible to discuss the serious problems of a revolution stuck between love and hate, the problems suffered by the people, the decayed system and the displeasure of the people. Nobody was able to discuss the problems with logic, knowledge and common sense.

What’s true is that people who are unable to talk are expectant of people who scream. And people who are unable to scream and shout are expectant of people who destroy.

Iran, which oppresses, pressures its people by the day, shouldn’t be surprised if one day it faces a real revolt.
