Iran has started to show its true colors

It seems that because we share a border that stretches 560 kilometers, we can only agree on the fact that we are neighbors, and nothing more.

It seems that the friendly and brotherly Iran turned out to not be so “friendly and brotherly” at all.

*

They were hiding their true colors up until today.

It seems Iran’s mask has finally fallen.

*

It seems that in reality, Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif was far from being a pleasant personality.

*

Let us recall the issue of the nuclear conundrum...

It seems that Iran, which has found itself face to face with the wrath of Western double standards, has failed to appreciate having Turkey go against its allies to take its side and support it, when no other country has, during the most challenging times.

*

It seems that being co-religionists means nothing to them when it comes to Turkish-Iranian ties.

*

It seems that instead of embarking on the same path with us, they instead chose to become an apprentice of the “Great Satan.”

*

It seems that they actually did not really care about the issue of sect, which they seem to be obsessed with, that they were willing to ignore it and instead continued to dream of the Persian Empire.

*

Despite their reputation as very calculating, it seems they’re unable to even look out for their own interests.

*

Despite the fact that they talk a big game when it comes to poetry, it seems they don’t understand it.

*

It seems they’re not fans of the late grand poet Bahtiyar Vahapzade.

*

It seems they weren’t pleased with President Erdoğan.

*

It seems that they were greatly annoyed by the fact that President Erdoğan had taken part in the festivities in Azerbaijan.

*

It seems that Iran has taken issue with Turkey’s progress in the field of defense, despite the fact that it received nothing but praise from the whole world.

*

Every time President Erdogan recites a poem, it seems to land him in hot water.

*

Iran’s reaction would have been understandable had Erdoğan recited the following Yahya Kemal verses instead of Vahapzade’s poetry during the celebration ceremony in Baku:

“At a garden that houses the grave of Hafiz, there was a rose

It blossoms every day again and again, with its blood-red color

At nights, it cries until daybreak

With the harmony that made it dream of the old Shiraz.”

*

However…

What cannot be understood is how was Iran provoked or what we did to get on its nerves.

We also had thought that our relations were going well.

For that reason we were willing to go the extra mile for them.

But maybe we should also reconsider.

Should they cross the line, we’ll set them straight.
