Shortly before world leaders gathered for the World Economic Forum in Davos in January, UK aid organization Oxfam published a report revealing in summary that the wealth of 1 percent of the world's richest is equal to 99 percent of the rest of the world's combined wealth. The content of the report was known by all around the world, particularly the 99 percent, yet the existing global system was not an economic model that works for the welfare of all – it benefited 1 percent of the world alone. However, the injustice and global inequality in the income distribution held a significant place on the 2016 Davos agenda.
