Has everyone really understood what happened in Syria?

The U.S. Foreign Minister John Kerry met with his English counterpart Phillip Hammond in London recently and stated: “We have been saying for a year and a half that Assad should go. But, at what time? And using which model? It should happen in the Genève duration and in the framework of negotiations. For a while now, we have been saying that Assad shouldn't have to leave in the first days and months." The above statements indicate that an extra lifespan has been granted to Assad, yet is a matter to question America's foreign policy...

Basically; it shows us that we are on a different phase of the East-West war conducted through Syria.

There are odd reasons for the super powers to come to this stage in Damascus , but the most convincing reason would have to be Russia establishing a military base in Syria and equipping this base with air-to-air missiles. Furthermore, the American and Russian Defense Ministries (two opposing nuclear super powers) providing military coordination is another reason.

Well what does this mean?

It seems like the comments, that the two main Western countries, England and the U.S. made, imply that there is a bar comprising over the Ukraine and Syria. A new plan for Damascus, not even mentioning the Ukraine issue, and shunning criticizing Russia at all, imply that there are new plans in regards to the East-West relations.

The restoration of the U.S.- Russia axis on its hinges will not be immediate and effortless. However, the extraction of texts continuously mortifying the Kremlin, the avoidance of the Russian existence in Ukraine, the bypass of Crimea and finally the statement made to Kiev by Kerry, “The Minsk Agreement is crucial. It is one of a kind. And all must completely implement it." – has been noted by all capitals. Furthermore, it has been also expressed that Russia has had a conciliatory influence over the separatists in Ukraine-Donbas.

We have made many statements on; the open connection between Ukraine and Syria, and that both the crisis and the solution will come out of a bag full of bargains in regards to this relationship. Consequently, the new conditions that will come about for both countries shouldn't be surprising, but should be followed closely.

The conditions being;

1. Washington perceives Russia and Iran as its “ future partners" in regards to the Syria issue.

2. A negotiation process is contemplated in which all parties will participate.

3. Exempt from a time limit.

4. The U.S. will not respond to Russia's military existence/ stance in Syria.

5. The rapidly emerging Russian- U.S. military coordination is rather meaningful. Decreasing the possibility of a conflict and communication on annihilating the risk of error/ accident is natural, but two super powers existing in a region, which is currently experiencing a war isn't suitable with the pace of life.

6. Germany's view on the issue shouldn't be overlooked. During a mutual press conference John Kerry had with his German counterpart Frank-Walter Steinmeier in Berlin, Steinmeier said, “ We gladly welcome Russia increasing its military engagement in Syria." ('Joint Press Availability with German Foreign Minister Steinmeier', 20/09, ABD, official website for the Foreign Ministry.)

7. The U.S. does not believe Russia is using the struggle with ISIS as a means to establish and increase a strategic entity in Syria. On the contrary, the U.S. welcomes Russia being a part of the coalition.

8. Most importantly; the U.S. does not stipulate that Assad resigns from his position. They do not specify a time period.

9. After such a sentence, it would be awkward not to wonder what Turkey's reaction would be. Thus, Ankara promptly stated; “ Can you make a partnership with Assad, while trying to find a solution for the crisis in Syria? A tyrant dictator who has waged war on his own people cannot be a part of a political solution. This isn't possible in any way at all." ( ' Sinirlioğlu: A dictator cannot be a part of a solution', 20/09)

10. A transition period has started in Syria. There is a respectable road to complete, but it has started. This is a milestone.

11. Furthermore; it seems that the White House has made a choice. Before the 2016 Presidency elections, including Israel's presence in the country, the U.S. has turned away from Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, countries that suggest aggressive strategies in dealing with the Syrian crisis.

12. Let's try and understand Israel: The claim that Russia's military existence in Syria will change belongs to Israel. New information that came through on September 21 indicates that Israel and Russia have agreed on coordination just like the one between the U.S. and Russia. (What about England?)

13. It should be understood that the U.S. has come to an end with its strategy in Syria. It was a 10-year period and it was suitable for experiences.

14. Saudi and Turkey are currently withdrawn.

15. Egypt has drawn closer to Russia and has started to recognize Assad as a position against radical groups.

16. Europe has become confused from following the refugees and ISIL.

17. President Erdoğan's visit to Russia and him meeting Putin today is important.

18. Putin preparing for a talk to the United Nations on September 28, after a long time, is very important.

19. Basically, all these talks and developments are obviously going towards creating a platform in the U.N.

20. The U.S., Russia, England, Germany, Turkey, Iran and Saudi Arabia will all be the players in this platform.

Wishing you all a happy Eid...
