"We experienced an undesired plane incident with Russia that affected us negatively for about eight months. Later we penned them a letter expressing that we wanted this negative period to end, because Turkey's relations with Russia affected the region as a whole. Therefore, it was not right for two important countries to stand apart from each other. Russia's response to our letter was positive. The current relation between the U.S. and Russia is not that bad, even if they have negativity between them at times, they will never end their relationship."
