Where is North Korea trying to strike?

Why aren’t they trying to overthrow the Pyongyang government?

Why aren’t they striking North Korea?

Why aren’t the defense systems of the U.S. and countries in the region running?

What should be known in the name of the crisis that has caught the U.S. by the throat with the hydrogen bomb is that answers to all similar questions lead to China…

Nikki Haley, U.S. permanent representative to the U.N. said that the North Korean leader is “begging for war… Our country’s patience is not unlimited.”

Vasily Nebenzya, Russia's permanent representative to the U.N., replied: "We are calling on everyone to be calm because the settlement of the Korean issue is only possible through diplomatic and political means."

He did not mention a North Korean or nuclear terrorism problem, but a "Korean” problem!

Liu Jieyi, China’s permanent representative to the U.N., said: “China will never allow chaos and war on the Korean peninsula. The problem on the peninsula should be solved peacefully…”

It seems that Beijing and Moscow are slugging the U.S. with the Pyongyang bat...

Cornering the cat...

The simple fact is that even while you are reading this article, if Pyongyang carries out a new nuclear test, what the U.S. and the West will do is very limited and risky. That's what makes them nervous. Because if they do not do anything, their weakness will be confirmed.

Certain things can be done; for instance, you can make a preventive strike. I mean, you can deal such a blow that the attack capacity becomes paralyzed.

The U.S. may try it, but due to its geographical position, it is not possible to simultaneously strike all of North Korea’s missiles. Also, the attack will trigger thousands of long-range artillery batteries of the country. Nobody could save Seoul.

Killing the leaders of the country is also an option. It would be naive to say that the U.S. and South Korea did not consider this possibility and did not work on it. But, failing to kill North Korea's leader, Kim Jong Un, will lead to a disaster. Moreover, who will replace him?

Imposing sanctions… They are already doing this with the purpose of ensuring the collapse of the regime. Beijing will not allow this. It is clear that economic sanctions will not work as long as there is China. After all, this might go as far as to impose sanctions on Chinese companies, and it is controversial whether Washington will want to be at loggerheads with China now.

As you can see, there is a stalemate. Things are dragged into the plan proposed by China and Russia: North Korea ends these crazy attacks, while the U.S. and its allies in the region, South Korea and Japan, stop exercises in the region.

It means that the U.S.’s “Pacific Century” is repelled this time.

Cheese, Volkswagen, Taiwan’s new premier?

It would be wise to look at the events that are taking place while the crisis is growing.

The most important one was the BRICS meeting in China, which the leaders of Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa attended.

Delivering an opening speech, the Chinese President said: "Without our involvement, global problems cannot be solved. We should push for an open world economy, promote trade liberalization and facilitation and jointly create a new global value chain. The wild jungle laws of the West have been rejected, BRICS will not take anyone's cheese, but instead, it will grow its global economic pie.”

Is not the cheese-pie metaphor interesting?

The second event is that Volkswagen will recall 1.8 million vehicles in China to services due to bugs in fuel pumps. We know that German companies’ recent bitter experiences stem from the relations with the U.S. Then? And how will this influence the company’s initiatives and partners in China, if any, its relations with the management... (“Volkswagen, local partners recall 1,82 mn vehicles in China,” 04/09, AFP)

The third is that Taiwanese Premier Lin Chuan resigned on Monday, creating the possibility of a government coming to power, one which could have a good relationship with China, unlike the old one that was at odds with it.  Looking at the map, it will be seen that the political aspect of the island of 23 million offers military advantages for the Pacific’s balances! We must find it important if it happens, but the “system” will probably not allow it…

Why aren’t West’s defense missiles running?

There are other sinister questions... Why weren’t defense missiles in the U.S., South Korea and Japan fired up against North Korea’s missiles that travelled 2,700 kilometers beyond Japan about a week ago?

When the North Korean missiles that had the potential to carry nuclear warheads were launched, 17,500 American and 50,000 South Korean soldiers continued with the “Ulchi-Freedom Guardian” exercise. And the region was already on the alert. Moreover, more than a dozen of AEGIS warships equipped with a missile defense system was in the region.

There is no sound from the U.S. Pacific Command and Aerospace Defense Command. The defense secretary also says they can be shot if they fall close to the American continent. What if it struck the huge U.S. base in Japan, or other military elements in the region, or directly South Korea?

On the one hand, high tension connects Japan to the U.S., but on the other hand it poses different questions: Are the defense missiles running successfully?

It is also necessary to consider that the missiles launched from North Korea may be to weigh and perceive the reactions of U.S defense systems. Because the U.S. has new defense systems in the region, and their capabilities are not fully known.
