The Euphrates Shield: Why now?

The history of this patience dates back to just after the Bashar Assad regime started its massacres in Syria. First of all, the Syrians who fled Assad's oppression swarmed into Turkey. Some of the Syrians remained in Syria and started to protect their country against Assad. Turkey, of course, supported this group called the Free Syrian Army (FSA), as they were defending their land and honor. The FSA leadership was welcomed in Turkey for a meeting… As this meant that Turkey would be effective in Syria and even in the region. Of course, someone had to say stop to this. And they did…
