It was 35 years ago, right at about these times, the Syrian city of Hama was under intense bombing. Fighter jets were bombing the city from the air, while tanks were entering the narrow streets of the old city through collapsed buildings. The 27-day siege left behind at least 38,000 dead and a never ending trauma. The revolt attempted by Muslim Brotherhood-member opposition groups and the civilians supporting them, was recorded as one of the bloodiest pages in Middle East history.
