Why do some ask 'what business does Turkey have in Libya?’

East Libyan Commander General Khalifa Haftar, who is trying to overthrow Tripoli’s legitimate government, has been protected and supported by the CIA for years.

*

He struck a deal with the CIA after Gaddafi abandoned him...

He crossed from Chad to the Democratic Republic of Congo thanks to a CIA operation; he started an opposition movement against Gaddafi through an organization he established there.

During that period, he sought asylum in the U.S., whose line he towed, after a Gaddafi-backed coup in Chad ruined his plans.

He resided in a luxurious home in the upscale Virginia neighborhood of Falls Church, five minutes away from CIA headquarters.

He was naturalized as a U.S. citizen in 2008 and even voted in the presidential elections!

*

After Gaddafi was killed, he returned to Libya. He became the Commander of Ground Forces in the interim government. After the leader of the interim government was killed, he left Libya and followed developments from the U.S.!

Starting 2014, he began to re-emerge on the scene. After his military dominance was rejected, he established his own government in Tobruk.

Haftar, who is being used by the CIA, has been waging a war against the Government of National Accord (GNA).

Checkmate in the Eastern Mediterranean

Through a magnificent move, Turkey turned the tables on everyone by signing a maritime agreement with Tripoli’s legitimate government.

Greek media labelled the game-changer move as a “checkmate” on Turkey’s part in the Mediterranean.

From Greece to Southern Cyprus, from Egypt all the way to Israel, all these countries that were in cahoots with each other are going berserk!

*

Acting in accordance with its national interests, Turkey resolutely declared that it “can’t stand idly by when it comes to the events in Libya.”

This has thrown Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, the chairman of Turkey’s main opposition, the Republican Peoples Party (CHP) into a panic!

This time it has prompted him to ask, like the broken record he is, “What business do we have in Libya?”

VOICE OF AMERİCA

For example, Mr. Kemal not once has asked what business does the U.S. have in Syria, but he’s always frantically asking what business is it of Turkey’s!

In the same vein, Mr. Kemal never asks what business does the U.S. have in Libya:

He’s greatly upset by Turkey protecting its national interests by supporting the legitimate government in Libya!

By asking “What business do we have in Libya?” he’s basically in charge of U.S. interests!

*

CHP lawmaker Engin Altay finally revealed their true colors when he said the “Tripoli administration (Sarraj) is a Jihadist-leaning one; the Tobruk administration (Haftar) thus is a more reasonable, more secular one.”

*

What does that mean?

As far as the CHP is concerned, the CIA-protected Haftar terrorist is very palatable!

They prefer him because “he’s secular!”

So? Haftar being a terrorist, one that is Uncle Sam’s terrorist no less, doesn’t make the CHP uncomfortable at all!

Uncomfortable? Haftar being under Washington’s protection is actually why the CHP prefers him...

Since May 2010, hasn’t Mr. Kemal engaged in politics through his orders issued by none other than the American embassy?

The CHP administartion, led by Kılıçdaroğlu doesn’t recognize the People's Protection Units (YPG) as a terrorist organization!

Despite all of that, Turkey’s main opposition party throws its support behind these terrorists that it labels as “secular”!

A tiger never changes it stripes

And for the grand finale, a reminder of one of last week’s headlines:

“CHP lawmaker Özgür Özel stated that publishing verses of the Holy Quran in the Official Bulletin is not right, noting that it goes against the principles of secularism...
