After reading the literature on secularism and inclining your ear on the discourse, you are sure to think that world history is flowing toward secularism. Because this literature explains everything as if from a movie scene in which secularism is the leading actor. To tell the truth, you don't only gain this impression by reading the history of secularism. When you read about the history of modernization and the history of class conflicts, you learn in a different way. Modernization theories, the everything telos (purpose, destination point) that everything in the world happened before and is happening and ending turn one toward the thing we call modernization. This time the leading actor is modernization in the movie. Everything of importance for Marxists only has meaning within class conflict. And thus the world history, which heads toward communism works as a consistent and organized dialectical phase. Therefore it is impossible for Marxists of the first period to care about anything but class conflicts in world history.
