The December 17th coup attempt is an incident where the (parallel) structure, which had attracted attention with its strategic mind, calculation and acts, had been duped.
At first, this made people question why a structure, which had reached its current position by being processed finely and meticulously for over forty years with such deep calculations, had taken such a great risk.
I wonder: couldn't a community, which can even make a series of public diplomacy studies in order to affect the individual’s viewpoint against itself, and which is trying to establish a viewpoint by means of taking people to their schools, domestic and abroad, have been able to visualize this situation, which they had fallen into after the December 17th process?
When we observe the journey of the struggle, which had been carried out by Fethullah Gülen since the beginning of the 1960s until December 17th 2013, it can easily be seen that behind this movement there is a plan, program and strategic mind, which greatly exceeds a single individual’s capacity.
It’s understood that in the 1960s, the planning and foresight, which greatly exceeds the mind of a high school graduate hodja, even existed in the activities in the early days. To be honest, today it’s being understood easily that some of the circles, which had entered Gülen’s life effectively in those years, had become indicative in the extreme discipline, systematic structure and strategic mind, which also made itself felt in the process of these service activities’ planning, organization, and conducting process. This movement is carrying the signs of the kitchen, in which CHP’s ex-General Secretary Kasım Gülek and the experience of the War on Communism Association have matured. It’s known that Gülen himself had been the active member of this association, which had only one branch in Turkey located in İzmir at the beginning of the 1960s, and the founder of their second branch in Erzurum.
In his “(My) Small World” he is presenting the way, which he had mobilized the people, in a sermon he had given in the same years, by provoking them against a movie where His Holiness Omar is being pictured, as an example to his effective preaching. To be honest, this incident also is worthy of being niggled. Eventually, it’s becoming difficult to understand how the strategic mind had gambled all its accumulations on a risky attempt like December 17th. They had made it apparent in short time that there is such a massive gap between their movement expressions and real intentions within the short relativity context of December 17th.
It became apparent that the community, which harps on expressions like tolerance, dialogue, humanism, living together and democracy, didn’t believe in any of these notions even a bit; on the contrary, they had awkwardly consumed these notions and values only to store power.
At this hour, the question of what does this community, which doesn’t stop from using any value in order to reach their objective, really believe in is a question that really awaits an answer.
On top of overusing the notions “tolerance and dialogue”, the community had overused notions like “corruption”, “rightful due” and “public right” during the December 17th phase, and still is.
The structure, which had been captured while staging a coup openly (in my opinion there is no bigger corruption than a coup), is still shamelessly accusing others of corruption, while all their dirty tactics, which they had applied in the coup, had been revealed.
The persistence in this expression is, without a doubt, closely related with the strategic attitude of the congregation. The community is not acting with a one-day reflex. Even though they didn’t believe in them previously, they were using all these notions and values. They are doing the same thing in these expressions. With only a small difference: This time, they are trying to conduct a war, whose target had been designated, in this expression. Leaving aside the messages given to whomever by this strategic mind, the situation of the community in Turkey’s public level and all over the Islamic world is quite sad. When corruption is mentioned in the public in many matters related with the “orphan right, sacrificed meats, donations and state assignments”, there are no other concrete examples other than this community. Also, when the matter of “corruptly placing one’s own personnel in the state staff by blocking others by means of dirty tricks” is being mentioned, concrete examples about this community is the first thing that pops in everyone’s mind. Actually, they are drowning even further with this attitude.
Despite this, the entrepreneurs of this December 17th coup are still fluttering strategically. It’s being understood that their calculations and visualization was quite different for post-December 17th.
First of all, if they weren’t sure that their coup attempt would succeed, they wouldn’t take this risk. We understand that. However, it seems that the December 17th was a flawless plan for them. Possibly, the failure rate seems to be zero. Maybe they had supposed that even if this plan wasn’t successful in December 17th, then it could be achieved in December 25th. And if it weren’t successful there as well, then it would be successful in the countless attacks, which would be conducted in the process leading to March 30th, since no government can resist.
Secondly, this plan, with its known aspects, wasn’t the plan and implementation of the parallel structure alone. Out in the open, there was the second wave of the coup consortium, which had first mobilized in the Gezi incidents, and this wave was exclusively undertaken by the parallel structure. However, it was being expected that this coup would have international support and that support had never stopped.
Many developments in this world, since the Gezi incident, are being mobilized on the parallel or support of the December 17th attempt.
However, there is a point where all this strategic calculation and international support stumbles; they didn’t take into consideration the style and action system of a leader, who had expelled every kind of coup until now.
