Sayyid Qutb's Ghost Wandering Over Egypt

Almost two years passed since the coup against Mohammed Morsi, the first President that came to power through democratic elections in Egypt, in 2013. During this time, in order to exceed their legitimacy depression, the coupist General Abdel Fattah El-Sisi's rulership established a terror regime, actualized massacres and the country had gone back to the days of Hosni Mubarak and Cemal Abdülnasır.

Recently, the Cairo Criminal Court asked for Egypt Mufti's opinion on the death sentences of 106 people, including Mohammed Morsi, for “espionage” and “prison raids”. There is no conclusive decision yet. According to Egypt's laws, the court has to ask the Egypt Mufti's opinion on the punishment before the court gives its final verdict, which is expected to be announced in June 2nd.

The coup administration previously gave a death sentence to M. Bedii, one of the leaders of the Muslim Brotherhood, and many other members of the Muslim Brotherhood; however none of those decisions were implemented. Especially, it's remarkable to see that there are four death sentences on Bedii, but it's still not implemented. The researchers, who are closely following the news in Egypt, are thinking that the coup administration, who is already experiencing a legitimacy depression, does not implement the execution verdict due to their fear of meeting with a new Hasan El Benna or Sayyid Qutb ghost. This is the first death sentence verdict given to Morsi, who is still on trial and sentenced to 20 years in prison. After the court asked Mufti's decision, support messages from various countries of the Islam world have been submitted for Morsi. Everyone, who has sided with the oppressed against the tyrants, roared that this decision/verdict is unacceptable. However, the only one who raised his voice against this decision was President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. The administrators of Western countries, who are constantly dogmatizing on matters like democracy and human rights, did not say a word against the death sentence given to Morsi, who had been distanced from his task with an illegitimate coup, leaving him defenseless. We can talk about two institutions in the international community, other than Turkey, that has reacted against this decision. After the death sentences were announced, Amnesty International announced that the verdicts in question are showing everyone that the justice system in Egypt is miserable. The Human Rights Watch thinks that the verdict is aimed at assimilating the opposition. The deputy-spokesman of the General Secretary of the UN only stated that the General Secretary reported the developments. While no one is uttering against this verdict, it's actually showing us that they are supporting the happenings, coups and massacres in Egypt. Of course, it was unacceptable for some powers, to have Egypt democratized while being ruled by dictators, because they had a Turkey example, which broke free from their control and is developing and reinforcing.

The possibility of Egypt being a second Turkey, startled many people, especially Israel. The fact that the only political movements, which had a communal base, were the Islamic movements in the region and that they all presented a critical attitude to the world system, brought forward the thesis that the free elections, especially in Egypt, might cause chaos in the country. Nobody is demanding a real democracy for the Islam world. The expectation is to have leaders that will be meeting other countries', especially Israel's, expectations. Thus, some people, who are quiet over Morsi's death sentence, are creating intense disinformation and speculation about President R. Tayyip Erdoğan and AK Party.

Remember, when the coup in Egypt happened in July 2013, some media organs headlined “Egypt's Tayyip has been overthrown”. One of those media organs attempted a perception operation by using the unbelievable headline like “After the death sentence request directed at Morsi had been announced by the Court, it had been accepted with 52% and imprisonment intended for execution”. It's being accepted by everyone that the death sentences carry a political meaning rather than a judicial one. After the coup, the coupist Sisi intensified the oppression towards antagonist groups in order to provide legitimacy to the coup. Without a doubt, they had directed the most intense oppression on the Muslim Brotherhood. As a person, who is convicted with slaughtering thousands of unarmed and civil people that resisted against the coup in the Rabaa Square, Sisi's objective is to have the Muslim Brotherhood sit on the table without any preconditions and defenseless, and bring them acknowledge their rulership. During the two years since then, the latest move of Coupist Sisi, who failed in this matter and caused Egypt to lose its reputation in the international community, was to sentence 106 people, including Morsi, to death.

All of these happenings are showing us that the revolution process in Egypt is still ongoing. The people, who want Egypt to be democratized and belong to Egyptians, cannot be feared or deterred by sentencing Morsi to death. For the people, who want Egypt to be administered from Egypt humanely and with justice and who want the military coup or violence regimes to come to an end in the world, the first elected President of Egypt, Morsi, will continue being a symbol.

Sayyid Qutb being in the first place, the executions of the Muslim Brotherhood movement's members could not end the Egyptian community's willpower for liberation, but on the contrary, those executions turned into scary ghosts that wander over the pharaohs.

Death sentences had been the expression of the pharaohs' helpless death fears. However, the fear of the pharaohs had no effect on the predestined death. Sayyid Qutb's ghost, who is wandering over Egypt, is declaring the end of the pharaohs.
