Trump is one lonely cowboy in the US

The process started in Syria after Trump declared on Dec. 19 via his Twitter account that he is going to withdraw U.S. soldiers from Syria has revealed the sloppiness, disarrangement and the incoordination between the decision-makers within the country.

If this is not a calculated and planned scenario they are playing for the world by presenting themselves as contentious (this is a scenario that conspiracy lovers always appeal to), the situation the U.S. is in right now as a superpower is pathetic. Both the CIA and Pentagon objected to Trump’s decision to withdraw from Syria. Moreover, the senators from his own party objected to this decision by giving the excuse that this decision will leave People’s Protection Units (YPG) terror elements, the U.S.’s allies in the fight against Daesh, vulnerable against Turkey. In addition, Israel criticized this withdrawal by stating that it will only be beneficial for Iran. And of course, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates expressed their critical attitude by offering to replace the U.S. military presence in Syria.

In this entire process, Trump was left isolated by all other political actors within the country in his decision to withdraw U.S. soldiers from Syria and even from the whole Middle East which created serious expectations among the major part of the U.S. population. So, he is almost a lonely man, a lonely cowboy.

No matter what they say, the U.S.’s military presence and recent activities in Syria are against the interests of the U.S. and of its people. Not only in Syria, but in the entire Middle East, these policies are only harming the U.S. With the political attitude they have today, the U.S. doesn’t give any positive signs for the future and this will cause its decline. The U.S., which is only investing in Israel’s security and Zionism, doesn’t have a chance of winning in the Middle East in the long run. Eventually, because of Zionism, Israel and all everyone supporting it are destined to lose. Because Zionism is a bigoted ideology which tries to realize impossible things and goes against the realities of history and the present world.

Americans are also seriously questioning why all American values have been extruded by this bigoted ideology. Young generations in the U.S. are genuinely questioning the unequal treatment of U.S. policies regarding Israel, which gives it immunity, and the opinion that is becoming more and more widespread is that this will constitute the real threat against the U.S.

Similarly, today they are trying to sustain putschist dictatorial regimes for the sake of the very same Zionism, and this invalidates the U.S.’s claim to its commitment to democratic values, human rights, and freedom. It distances them from the seriousness which is necessary for being the world’s superpower. A superpower doesn’t build its greatness and dominion upon its arsenal or economic power alone. It also builds them upon its commitment to universal values, its consistency, its reliability, and its justice.

The U.S.’s Middle East policies, from this perspective, are far from universal values, consistency, reliability, and justice. In this state, it may continue its dominion for a while by force of arms or by using its economic power, but after a while its collapse will be inevitable.

The Israeli press announced Trump’s decision to withdraw U.S. soldiers from Syria with the headline: “There couldn’t be a better new year present for Erdoğan, Ruhani, and Putin.” Statements like this were actually foretelling the crisis that was set to break out. It is also possible to see Trump’s tweet threatening Turkey with economic devastations as a white flag against the internal and external pressures and the operation to isolate him.

Right now, the U.S. lacks an argument to explain what kind of a plan it has in Syria and what good is it going to bring to Syria. It is only creates and develops a threat against its NATO ally Turkey by supporting YPG elements, but also permanently destroys the territorial integrity and societal peace within Syria.

His actions in Syria into which he flooded the money of American taxpayers has neither stops the bloodshed, nor brings peace, strengthens human rights or gives any benefit to the people of Syria. Therefore, how are they going to explain their presence in Syria to their own people, which costed them a fortune? Though, nowadays they try to dramatize the issue by making an empty excuse such as “protecting their Kurdish allies in their fight against Daesh.” But, from whom they are going to protect the Kurds? From Turkey? Who says that Turkey is fighting against the Kurds? Describing Turkey’s fight against the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) as Turkey’s fight against the Kurds is no different than describing the U.S.’s or any other country’s fight against Daesh as their fight against Muslims. However, as Turkey is not fighting against the Kurds when it is fighting the PKK, it is not fighting against Muslims when it is fighting Daesh. On the contrary, it is also fighting the enemies of the Kurds when it is fighting the PKK, just as it is fighting the enemies of the Muslims when it is fighting Daesh.

There is no need to explain what kind of an organization Deash is. They also know very well what they are. It is also not possible for us to know Daesh better than them, or know better than them in what laboratory they produced it and how they introduced it into the market.

Turkey is the only country which knows what it is doing in Syria and can explain those actions to the whole world with a clear conscience.

Turkey is only fighting to protect the territorial integrity of Syria, to establish societal peace in the country and to make sure that Syria belongs to the Syrians alone. We should start discussions and negotiations from this point.

Turkey intervenes in Syrian territories not because it wants to annex them but because it has a right to stop the threats within Syria that are targeting Turkey, meaning it is using its right to defend itself.

As it is an indisputable reality that even a small scale of activity and disturbance within Syrian territories creates a wave of migration towards Turkey, no one should have more right than Turkey to be interested in what is going on in Syria.
