Understanding the Kurds' willpower correctly

In my opinion, the comments related with the attitudes of the Kurds are the wrong results that had been hurriedly interpreted from the election results and tended to be accepted as general. First of all, it's not correct that the Kurds did not vote for AK Party or all of them voted for HDP. A substantial part of the Kurds had already voted for AK Party. Many messages I've received from our Kurdish siblings are showing us that these generalizing statements are causing a great discommodity. Exactly because of this, in my previous article I've mentioned that it's better to ask “why the substantial part of the Kurds couldn't vote for AK Party” rather than “why they didn't”. The vote distribution in the region under the shadow of weapons has not been a healthy reflection of the Kurdish willpower.

Unfortunately, HDP reflected the threshold pressure on them as a fascistic oppression on their voters and thus reached their objective this way. This fascistic oppression, the countless statements of the people living in the region, and such incidents do exist. Even if a single one of those had been conducted to the detriment of another party, a national and international campaign would have been started against it. However, every kind of terror and oppression by HDP during their election campaign had almost been accepted as their normal right. We couldn't even hear the tiniest criticism from the intellectuals, who had been mobilized against some attacks towards HDP in some provinces, towards HDP's terror, de facto attacks, kidnappings, murders and their open-voting dissection implementations in the name of gathering votes.

To be honest, we have no difficulty understanding this apathy when we look at the left-wing pasts of the people, who are making democracy chit chats from Nişantaşı cafes. The intellectual despotism of the left in Turkey had always received a tolerable and obligated relation between the violence and preferred transformation; the nation is not in a position to see the reality, thus, thy need to be brought into line by force. The democracy process, which necessitates asking for their votes and consents, is a damned process; however, if this process is obligatory, then there is no inconveniency in embarking this necessity on the stubborn nation. Thus, for the Nişantaşı leftists, who are even abstaining from giving a janitor position to a Kurd in their apartments, the Kurds are nothing but a tool that are used for a savior watch.

There are different aspects of this situation on the HDP front. Even if there was no threshold pressure on them, there was already a predisposing to purify the region from any kind of discrepancy other than themselves. The results they've received from the elections are showing us that they are sustaining an enthusiasm belonging to the Baas regimes' democracy model.

In all the Baas regimes, the results of the elections are assured beforehand. These elections' results to the countenance of the dominant dictator usually with 95%. A democracy display will be presented to the people, but the image that whole of the nation is supporting the dictator without having any difference of opinions is being guaranteed.

In the same way, HDP-PKK are trying to give the image that the region is Kurdish and all the Kurds are on the side of HDP. Thus, they don't want a different color, sound in the region. As we can see, they've reached over 80% in many provinces; however, they are not content with it and they need to reach 90%. Thus, as they did after the previous elections, they are now after the people who voted for other parties. They are excluding those people from the community with heavy neighborhood pressures they implement on them like “traitors”, “Kurdish enemies” or “enemy-government supporter”.

If the democracy and civil rights supporters have a tiny bit of honesty, they will focus on how people lives are turned into misery due to oppressions. The matter is now beyond the provision of seized rights or the demands like the existence struggle of the community; it has already turned into a matter of having the people, who did not obey the organization, kneel down. Today, anyone, who has something to say about democracy and a stance to take, has their actual tests on this situation.

While stating that HDP included weapons, oppressions and terror to their election campaigns, we are also relating all the votes they've received to this fact. In sociology, no development can be related to a single reason. Even if HDP didn't implement any oppression, they already have a substantial amount of votes.

There is a substantial mass that regards HDP as the only party of the Kurds and will give their votes to HDP due to that reason. We've never disregarded the HDP's reality or claim to represent a certain part of the Kurds. A defensive reaction against every sentence we are forming is equal to being over-emotional.

While saying that HDP included weapons in their election campaign and gathered votes over oppression, we are not saying that everyone voted under oppression and out of fear. Of course, the HDP voters in Nişantaşı, Küçükçekmece, Manisa, Aydın and Kocaeli might have different realities and stories. There must be votes towards HDP from different channels.

One of the most important two factors is the success of receiving entrusted votes (even if Qandil makes different statements); and the other ones is the success of turning the threshold pressure to the oppression they've implemented on the Kurdish community in the region. The first one is based on the success of establishing an extremely legitimate expression or alliance in the democracy filter; however, the second one is a fascistic practice that will not be accepted by anyone who regard themselves as democrats.

As we've pointed out previously, HDP's election campaign, which had been conducted with its two sides that are foreign and feint to each other, had designated the results of the election while involving the other details.
