Coronavirus, which first emerged in China and shortly spread throughout most of the world, forces us to think long and hard about the civilization built by capitalism.
The secular capitalist system is in the clutch of a great crisis. The system is broken now. It is an ailing system that constantly oozes disease.
It deified humans, then eventually turned them into monsters and the world into hell. I want to conduct an in-depth analysis on this crisis, which originated in China and pushed the world towards mass hysteria. First, what I am writing in this column (of several ones to follow) is a philosophical excavation.
During this process, religion did not disappear, it underwent metamorphosis.
The movie, television, computer, internet and football industries are generating non-religious saints. New icons are everywhere: Tempting, charming, seductive non-religious saints are leaving us face to face with a new form of sanctity: this is neo-paganism.
In this day and age, this neo-paganism is turning into a form of techno-paganism.
Religion of the age: Techno-paganism.
We can stand against this disaster, which is set to destroy humankind, family and society, with Islam alone!
In my opinion, this is why Turkey is being targeted.
The globalization process has imposed economic synchronization. Economic synchronization laid the building blocks enabling medium or mid-large-scale countries such as Brazil, Argentina, Egypt, Turkey, Russia, India and Japan to be controlled from the outside at a global level in the neo-liberal order, and facilitating their blending through political, social and cultural fault lines within.
The global, post-modern, neo-liberal order has seized the political structures of medium-scale countries through economic synchronization.
Then, it spread the post-modern, popular culture forms and hence, forms of consumption throughout the globe, and produced a cultural synchronization form. Cultural synchronization vaporized the different cultures of the world, forms of cultural expression and existence. Economic synchronization was used to ensure medium-scale powers were taken over economically and added to the capitalist system.
Meanwhile, cultural synchronization was used to turn medium-scale countries into consumption societies as an inevitable result of economic synchronization and liberalization. All these processes prodigal forms of secularization were blown up and eventually, these countries’ own cultural depth, wealth and societies’ forms of belonging were destroyed.
Heidegger, the brightest thinker of our age, had likened technology to a “monster.”
We do not expect out science-worshippers to have the intelligence necessary to understand this.
Heidegger’s definition of technology as a “wild animal,” is becoming a reality in our age. Humans have become the slaves of technological toys. A biological virus is turning the world into hell.
What is more horrific in philosophical terms is that beyond a technological siege, humankind is losing its ability to think while becoming a slave of his/her emotions through speed, pleasure and seduction.
The age of knowledge has long become history. Data is not knowledge. Data is now a bomb that is going to activate our emotions and that obliterates our capacity to think.
What is more, we are beyond data: we are all a digit, a number.
Robots are now kings of the digital world: humankind long lost its throne. Emotionless, soulless robots are going robotize our life.
Our live revolves around technology. Technology has reached a seductive, fake god-like power. It is tempting and seductive.
Techno-paganism is now the tempting, seductive new religion of a humanless, soulless world that eliminates the idea of God and the truth; it drags humanity to the verge of relativism, nihilism; it turns humans into slaves of technology with technological devices that are developing at a mind-blowing speed, and eventually destroys humanity, evaporates all forms of cultural belonging, corrupts the family, and numbs with speed and pleasure.
Exactly two decades ago, I had written a serial in this column about techno-paganism as a threat that awaits humankind. Now, seeing how my theoretical observations from two decades ago are soon turning into reality is frightening me.
Islam alone can stand against the techno-paganism disaster.
The founders of this order know this very well and this is why they are trying to strike a deadly blow to Islam with excuses such as terrorism.
All other religions have been fossilized, made to surrender, with the exception of Islam; it could not be fossilized, converted or made to surrender.
It is through grasping Islam’s concept of the truth, property, human and the world, the spectacular civilization experience that was presented for 1,400 by this concept in depth along with the problems of the age that we can develop ways to overcome the techno-paganism disaster of which humankind is on the verge.
