The sixth edition of the Istanbul Coffee Festival kicked off Thursday as coffee lovers and industry creators flocked to KucukCiftlik Park in the Sisli district to taste a variety of coffees from different roasters.

The festival offers different tastes from across the world to visitors and tells the history of coffee from its very beginning.

Under the motto of “Festival Awakening the City,” it also features seminars, workshops, concerts, live performances and creative displays. It is Organized by Dream Sales Machine under the main sponsorship of Axess.

Around 40,000 people are expected to attend, festival coordinator Yasemin Karginoglu told Anadolu Agency.

140 brands will take part this year, she said. "There are also 1,000 people inside, who are coffee shop owners and baristas.”

The festival runs through Sept. 22.
