Turkey’s benchmark stock index opened at 1,997.15 points on Wednesday, up 0.81% or 16.11 points from the previous close.
The BIST 100 index of the Borsa Istanbul climbed 2.78% to close on Tuesday at 1,981.04 points, with a daily trading volume of 42 billion liras (approximately $3 billion).
The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate dropped slightly to 13.6110 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT), versus 13.6570 at the previous close.
The euro/lira exchange rate was up to 15.3650 from 15.3370, while one British pound traded for 18.0480 liras, down from 18.0890.
A barrel of Brent crude oil was sold for around $75.1 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT).
