Gazprom increased its gas supplies to Turkey by 18.8 percent between Jan. 1 and Dec. 15, according to Russian news agency Tass on Sunday.

Tass reported Gazprom saying they sent 27.6 billion cubic meters of gas to Turkey, a record high during that period.

Gazprom’s earlier export record to Turkey was made in 2014 for the full year with 27.3 billion cubic meters.

Turkey is the second biggest foreign market for Gazprom, following Germany, the company said.

According to the company, gas supplies to other countries of the target region of the under-construction TurkStream gas pipeline also increased. Supplies to Greece increased by 10.1 percent, to Bulgaria by 5.7 percent, to Hungary by 22 percent and the largest rise was seen in Serbia with 23.5 percent.

TurkStream will consist of two offshore pipelines, with a total capacity to transport up to 31.5 billion cubic meters of natural gas per year. The first line is intended for the Turkish market, while the second targets gas supplies to countries in south and southeastern Europe.
