The Turkish Airlines and TAV Operation Service, two global brands of Turkey in the aviation sector, were presented an award for a lounge they opened last year in Washington Dulles International Airport.

According to a statement by the TAV Airports Holding on Wednesday, the lounge received the Excellence Award of 2017 by Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC), the largest construction industry trade association in the U.S.

The lounge welcomes passengers of Turkish Airlines and Star Alliance member airlines, as well as Priority Pass, Lounge Buddy and TAV Passport Card holders.

It has a seating capacity of 120 guests and offers Wi-Fi, snacks, a kids play area, and a prayer and resting area.

The 550-square-meter lounge stands out with its modern design and hosts 180,000 passengers every year, the statement added.

Mehmet Akif Konar, chief commercial officer for Turkish Airlines, said that the award proves Turkish hospitality transcends borders.

“Turkish Airlines endeavors to enable a perfect travel experience to its passengers not only during the flight, but also in pre- and post-flight periods. Being awarded for these efforts motivates us to achieve better,” he said in a statement.

Bora Isbulan, general manager of TAV Operation Services, said: “We closely follow the changing requirements and expectations of our guests and create solutions accordingly.”

TAV Operation Services annually provides services to approximately 4.5 million guests at its 57 lounges at 25 airports in 15 countries.
