Turkish defense products have left visitors in awe as the 2019 Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace (LIMA) Exhibition kicked off on Tuesday in Malaysia.

Turkish Defense Industry President Ismail Demir, Deputy Minister of National Defense Muhsin Dere, Turkish ambassador to Kuala Lampur Merve Safa Kavakçı and various top level officials are among the attendees.

Representatives and company executives of Turkey’s defense industry will conduct high-level meetings with primarily Malaysian authorities as well as top level representatives of other state participants.

The booths of six Turkish firms, consisting of the Turkish Aerospace Industry (TAI), ASELSAN, Defense Technologies Engineering and Trade Inc. (STM), HAVELSAN, ROKETSAN and TAIS have already been visited by Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Muhammed, Interior Minister Muhyiddin Yassin and force commanders of the Malaysian army.

ANKA goes to Malaysia

For the first time in its history, the Anka unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) is on static display at the fair, according to a statement from Turkish Aerospace Industry (TAI) on Monday.

"In addition to the ANKA platform, the T129 Atak multirole combat helicopter, Gokbey multirole utility helicopter, Hurkus advanced trainer, Hurkus-C light attack and armed reconnaissance combat aircraft and TF/Turkish fighter models will be displayed at Turkish Aerospace's stand," the firm said.
