Turkish Paralympic athlete wins gold in shot put

Turkey's Eda Yildirim won gold medal in the shot put with 12.05 meter degree in the 2019 World Para Athletics Junior Championships on Friday.

In a Twitter post, Turkish National Paralympic Committee congratulated special athlete Yildirim on beating her Brazilian opponent in the championship.

Turkish Youth and Sports Minister Mehmet Muharrem Kasapoglu also congratulated the athlete for winning the gold.

"Eda Yildirim became the world champion in the shot put by 12.05 meter in Switzerland's Nottwil. I congratulate her and wish her success in her career," Kasapoglu said in a statement.

Switzerland hosts this year's World Para Athletics Junior Championships. This tournament began on Aug. 1. and will end on Sunday.
