Head coach Juan Carlos Osorio decided to part ways with Mexican national football team, following the team's Round of 16 exit in World Cup 2018.

The manager's farewell message was published in the Mexico Football Federation's official website on Saturday.

"Serve this message to send my sincere thanks to the Mexican fans, the Mexican Football Federation, the employees of the High Performance Center and especially to ALL the players with whom I had the privilege of working and sharing during my stay as Director Technical of the National Selection of Mexico, position that I carried out with commitment, passion and pride," he wrote.

"On behalf of myself and my technical staff, thank you very much to ALL for this unique and unparalleled professional and life experience," he added.

The 57-year-old manager's Mexico team caused a big upset by beating Germany in the opening group stage match in World Cup 2018, followed by a 2-0 win over South Korea.

But the team's performance dropped immensely after being beaten by Sweden 3-0 in the final group match and Brazil eliminated Mexico 2-0 in the Round of 16 match.
