Peru is in the 2019 Copa America football final after Wednesday’s victory over Chile.

Peru beat Chile 3-0 in Porto Alegre, Brazil to advance to the tournament final.

Forward Edinson Flores gave Peru lead in the 21th minute of the game, 1-0.

Yoshimar Yotun found the net 17 minutes after the first goal and doubled his team’s lead, 2-0.

Forward Paolo Guerrero scored the third goal for his team in the stoppage time.

Chile had a chance to cut Peru's lead in the stoppage time but Peru’s goalkeeper Pedro Gales saved the penalty by Eduardo Vargas and Peru won the game 3-0.

Two-time defending champion Chile missed a chance to win Copa America title three times in a row.

Chile will face Argentina to fight for the third place in the tournament at Arena Corinthians in Sao Paolo on Saturday.

Peru reached the Copa America final for the first time in 36 years.

The team will play against the host nation Brazil to win Copa America title at Maracana Stadium in Rio de Janeiro on Sunday.
